Rosalie was awfully quiet this morning as she sped down the road to school.
Even though everyone continued to talk around her, she could feel their curious gazes. She was glad Edward wasn't in her car to pry in her head.
To be honest, she was surprised herself. She didn't know what was wrong enough. She suddenly had no desire to talk.
She slowed down as they approached the school and turned into the parking. As usual, she parked near the woods. Emmett's Jeep pulled up beside her and in sync, everyone started getting out.
As usual, eyes found followed them as they made their way across the parking lot.
Alice was extra jittery today and talking everyone's ears off.
Overall, everyone seemed to be in a good mood, even Jasper who was struggling with thirst.
Rosalie glanced at everyone and grimaced. Maybe it was the dreary weather that her mood was down.
She suddenly perked up and her body relaxed. She looked over at Jasper who sent her a small smile. She didn't respond to it and tore her gaze away, looking forward. She went straight to class without speaking to anyone.
"What's wrong with her?" Emmett turned to Edward and Jasper.
His mate, Delilah, wore the same worried expression on her face.
"We don't know." Edward said before glancing at Alice.
When everyone turned to look at her, she simply smiled.
"Everything will be fine." she said cryptically.
This earned several huffs and eye rolls.
She flashed them a grin and began pulling Jasper along.
"Come, Jazz." she said. "Let's get you to class."
The others watched them leave before parting ways.
The last to move was Edward who was glancing between the paths Alice and Rosalie took. He was curious to find out what was going on.
Meanwhile, Rosalie found her way to her first period class.
A few of her classmates were already there. She made her way to her seat in the back of the classroom and began to stare out the window.
"I heard that we're getting a new teacher."
"Me too."
"I thought that was our teacher."
"No. Remember? She said she was the substitute at the beginning of year."
"She might as well be our teacher. We've had her the whole year."
"I don't care. As long as it doesn't mess up my grades."
"I wonder if its a he or she."
"Have you seen most teachers? Don't get set your expectations too high."
"I wonder if I can get them on the paper."
Rosalie tuned the rest of babbling out and continued to stare out the window with a furrowed brow.
She couldn't help but find it weird as well.
Why would someone wait until the end of the year for a job? Especially as a teacher? Wasn't that irresponsible of them? What else did they think they could teach them?
She huffed in annoyance.
She already didn't have a great impression of whoever this teacher was.
The school bell had rung and the last few students filed in to the class. There was still no sign of the teacher.
