After 15 minutes of sitting in the car, Cyrus heard the garage open and looked up from his planner.

A black Mercedes drove to the front yard and prepared to park in the garage. It was the S55 AMG model and had tinted windows. The rims were shiny and the car held a sleek appearance that matched the charm of the house.

Seeing that the husband was home, he closed his binder and sat it aside. He waited until the car was parked before getting out of his own. Since the rain had gone down, he didn't grab his umbrella.

The car door opened an a blonde man stepped out of the driver's seat. He fixed his clothes and shut his car door before his gold eyes landed on man standing across the yard.

"You must be Mr. Elisham, I presume?" the blonde walked out onto the driveway.

Cyrus walked toward him and met him half way.

"And you must be Dr. Cullen." he said, shaking his hand. "Cyrus Elisham. I was a client of your wife and I teach physics at Forks High. I've heard all great things about you."

"Carlisle Cullen." Carlisle introduced himself. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm afraid I've just recently heard about you from my family. Nice to place a face to the name."

Cyrus nodded and released his cold hand.

"Let's take this inside, shall we?" Carlisle motions toward the house.

Cyrus nodded again and followed him to the front door.

The sound of the garage door going down was left behind as they entered the residence.

Cyrus took off his shoes and sat them by the door.

Carlisle waited until he was done and led him up the stairs to the living room.

"Good to have ya back, Mr. C." Emmett grinned at him.

"Please have a seat and make yourself comfortable." Carlisle turned to Cyrus. "Would you like anything to drink? Any refreshments?"

"That's-" Cyrus started.

"Here you are." Esme came in with tray of coffee and water.

Cyrus closed his mouth as he was about to decline their offer.

He looked a little helpless, but resigned to his fate.

"Thank you." he said politely.

"Let me take your coat." Delilah stood up and walked over to him.

"Oh." Cyrus had forgotten about his coat and took it off to give to her.

Delilah took his coat and went downstairs to hang it on the coat rack.

She didn't forget check him out before disappearing down the hallway. She couldn't help but frown at the sight of the cardigan over his blazer.

How many layers was this guy wearing? Was Forks really that cold?

If so, their family were certainly underdressed.

Cyrus took a seat while Esme poured him a cup a coffee.

"I hope coffee is okay." she said. "You'll have to blame my husband for drinking all the tea."

Emmett snickered while Carlisle was good-natured and smiled at the joke.

"Coffee is quite fine, Mrs. Cullen." Cyrus said. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Esme said. "Cream and sugar?"

"Black is fine." he told her.

Esme nodded and handed him his coffee cup and saucer.

"Esme is working on dinner." Carlisle said after he pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her head on her way back to the kitchen. "We would be delighted for you to join us this evening."
