Heavy rain fell throughout the dark night, soaking everything and everyone who stood in it, just like Ryuko did. She was walking to an unknown destination, her wet hair covering her eyes from view. After some minutes, she reached her destination, a destroyed house, her old house.
She entered through what used to be the door, and her eyes scanned the room, until they found what they were looking for, or who they were looking for, in this case.
The corpse of her father, or what was left of it.
She remembered that moment vividly. She came home after her dad sent her a letter to return home. She wasn't expecting a heartwarming family reunion, but she wasn't expecting what she found either.
Her father, bleeding out on the ground, the same scissor blade that she wields today impaled through his chest.
He had something to say, but she didn't really listened, as she saw the silhouette of a woman with the other half of the scissor leaving the scene, so she followed outside the house.
She didn't see her, but as she was going to turn back again, the house exploded, with her father still in.
As she reached where her deceased father would be, she stabbed the scissor blade on the ground, tears welling up in her eyes.
Ryuko: Father...I'm so sorry, father. Just when I get a clue of who your killer is, I... Damn it! If only I had more power!
Her wailings ceased as a trap door opened up under her feet, making her fall down into the house's basement with a scream, only for the trapdoor to close again.
Behind a pillar and observing everything, her teacher from Honnōji Academy stood, the button that controls the trapdoor in hand.
He took off his glasses, and his appearance seemed to change drastically. Gone was the scruffy look, replaced with a strangely beautiful face.
Teacher: The rest is up to you, Ryuko Matoi
He talked, as Ryuko fell deeper and deeper into the hole. She finally reached the bottom, falling onto a pile of clothes.
