With a strangled gasp, Levi's arms splay out stiffly; knocking everything from his desk in the process. With a groan, he rests his head back down on the cool mahogany before standing up and collecting the papers which he had scattered. That was one hell of an intense dream. He swears he barely closed his eyes before that titan appeared.
And that woman. The woman in his dream. Who was she? Why was he so drawn to her? Determined to follow her through those dingy, dirty streets? It felt almost like coming home. It's a strange thing for him to think, given his experience of home throughout his life, but there it is. Home.
Home like he envisions home should be. Peaceful, love, a sense of belonging. If it wasn't for that other version of him, that is. It doesn't make sense to him. None of it does, so with a firm shake of his head, he focuses on the papers before him. There's still a few good hours before anyone else will be up and about. The scents of chow being prepared have yet to enter his open window. He pushes back from his desk with a sigh and makes for the small fireplace at the back of the room. There should be just enough tea left in the kettle to get him by for now.
It's going to be a long day. Having only got two hours of sleep, of course doesn't help. He's used to it though. The endless march of days, seemingly like a nightmare on their own. One dragging into the other. Training, meetings, paperwork. Repeat until insane. An endless stream of black tea to stave off the inevitable nightmares. His friends, his soldiers, his mom.....
He sighs and goes back to the endless reams of paperwork; the mundane salvation against sleep. He....
