Phone Call from Darling

It was a typical Saturday morning. Class 1-C are to practice a certain role play for the upcoming school festival. The teacher started counting heads. She will announce the roles of each student in the play after she've confirmed that everyone was present. The gang stayed at the back. Everyone was present except for Chitoge. Tsugumi started panicking thinking that she shouldn't have left her in the house. But she ordered her to leave, what can she do?

"Oi, oi, oi Ichijo. Ms. Kirisaki is still not here, where is she?" One of their classmates asked.

"Why should I know?" Raku just scratched the back of his neck. Like he cares about what that gorila was doing anyway.

"Eh? You are Ms.Kirisaki's boyfriend, therefore you should know if she's coming or not. Right? Or did something happen between you two?" another replied. And it dawned on Raku.

"O-of course t-there's nothing wrong between honey and I-I!, I'm actually g-gonna call my h-h-honey right now" he stammered. What was he saying?! After all, he is her boyfriend, well, fake to be precise. How could he say that, like he wasn't anything to Chitoge at all? Tsugumi got her guns ready for him. They might think that Chitoge and he are not really boyfriends and girlfriends. He saw Shu with eyes twinkling. The guy always was curious about his and Chitoge's relationship.

"You guys! We're about to hear how the hot couple talk to each other on phone!" One of their boy classmates announced and the girls shrieked in excitement. Raku looked at them with a quite flustered face, couple talking on the phone?! he thought mentally. He never really had lovey dovey conversations with Chitoge on the phone, mostly, they would only call each other when planning their next date for their family's sake. Shu gave him a thumbs up.

'Just be cool, Raku' Raku sighed.
He dialed her number, then glanced at the guys. Jeez, they were really into it. He took a deep breath.

The phone rang...

"Hey Ichijo, put it on loud speaker so we can hear it" Shu suggested. The guys patted Shu's back in agreement. Ruri sweat dropped.

"Wh-whaaat?!" Raku cried.

"I agree with Shu" Onodera supprisingly said. Raku gasped and looked at her. She was curious. How does Ichijo actually talk to Chitoge on the phone?

'Eeeh?! Even Onodera?!' Raku cried in his mind. He couldn't do it in front of Onodera, vut since she insisted. Well whatever.

He put it on loud speajer and the class came quiet. She answered.

"What is it?" Chitoge answered coldly.

"H-honey! How are you?! Where are you even?" Raku stammered as he scratched the back of his head. The way he said 'honey' was so fake, Ruri straightened her glass.

"Hm? What are you talking about? Are we supposed to go on a date today?" She answered back. Ichijo could hear little shrieks from behind but shaked it off.

"What d-date?! Honey, you were sleeping in class again didn't you?" Raku seemed to forget the atmosphere and started talking to her like normal.

"S-shut up! And what is this about anyway?! You bastard, I was still sleeping when this phone freaking rang, only to find out that you called to tell me that!"

"We have practice remember?! Tsk, so much more for drolling in class"

"You moron, at least I'm still pretty even when i'm sleeping! So that was Tsugumi talking about."

"Don't tell me you're still in your house"

"Idiot, what if I still am? Wait, what practice is this about again, beansprout?"

"Our role play, and teacher said you're playing the monkey"

"Monkey my ass!"

"Just joking, just joking honey."

"Bet she gave you a bean costume already for being spineless and a coward"

"Like she would! Get your ass here already! You're the only one who's not here yet, if you don't like a costume with tails on it, i suggest you come quick."

"You suck"

"Just come here already"

"Fine!"

"Fine!"

"You are unbelievable DARLING!"

"Feelings mutual HONEY!"

They both gladly and at the same time, fiercely disconnected the call. Raku had his eyes angry and his nose blowing of steams.

"That bastard" Raku whispered looking at his phone. He noticed the silence. His eyes widened in realization. They would absolutely doubt our relationship now! Aargh! You scumbag! Idiot! Idiot! Idiiiooot!

"H-hold on! T-that's just how we t-talk--"

Just as he thought it would be worse, the class started laughing leaving Raku a question mark.

"You guys are so chummy" Shu complimented.

"Yeah" someone replied.

"It's so cute to hear them fight" another one said.

"They fight all the time, but they still are going strong" anoter one said.

"Well, that's youth for you" the teacher finally said. The class laughed. Raku forced a laugh but was completely confused. Aren't they suppose to suspect our relationship now?
