Derek's pov
The sun was beaming through my curtains and onto my face as I woke up, I sat up in bed for a few minutes before realising today was the day I got to meet my new neighbors! I jumped out of bed and ran down the stairs in my blue checked, PJ's.
"Mommy! Can we go and meet the new people today!!"
My mommy looked at me a chuckled.
"After you and your sisters have had some breakfast honey"
"Okay mommy!"
I got up onto the chair at the table with the help of my dad, I had a bowl of chocolate hoops and got it all over because I was trying to eat so fast.
"Slow down son, it's not going anywhere" my dad laughed
"I know dada I just really wanna go see the new people!!" I answered
"Go get dressed and we'll all go over" laughed my mommy
"Okay!" I shouted
I ran upstairs as quickly as I could and pulled my jumped over my head and pulled on some socks and tracksuit bottoms.

Merediths pov
"Meredith wake up"
I heard a rough voice as I  begun to open my eyes.
"Daddy!"
"Come on it's time to get up"
He walked out the room and left the door open.  I got up from the floor and stubbled down the stairs still half asleep.
"Daddy, where's mummy?"
"At work like usual"
"Oh"
He put a bowl in front of me and carelessly poured cornflakes and milk into it.
"Thank you daddy"
He walked out of the kitchen and left me to finish my cereal by myself. After I had finished I put my bowl in the sink and walked into the next room where he sat on a chair. "Daddy when's our stuff gonna get here?"
"Later"
"Will I get all my teddy's, and my bed!"
"Yes"
"Yay!"
I bounced up and down with my anatomy Jane doll in my hand. I saw a pink bag in the corner of the empty room, I pointed to it.
"Are my clothes in there daddy?"
"Yes"
I went over and picked it up and took it upstairs to my so call bedroom and emptied it out onto the floor all that fell out was a toothbrush, a hairbrush, a shirt and some socks, i didn't change my clothes as I was already wearing some as I didn't have no PJ's.
"MEREDITH!"
"Coming daddy!" I hopped down the stairs and saw a friendly looking lady with a little girl stood behind her a tall man next to her, two girls beside her and a little boy infront of her.
"Meredith these are the new neighbors, er that one's carolyn that one's err"
"Michael, Kathleen, Amy, Nancy and-"
He was cut off by a little boy
"I'm Derek!" He stood in front of the rest of his family smiling from ear to ear.
"Hi.. I'm m.. Meredith"
"Hi Meredith" Derek said with I smile "would you like to come over to play? "
The lady smiled at my daddy "if it's okay with you she can come play for an hour or two"
"Yeah whatever send her back later" he said, as he shut the door. I followed Derek and his family across the street to there home. As I walked in I was greeted by a dog, it came up to me and ran around in circles around me, I loved dogs! I giggled as the dog licked my face.
"Buddy come over here." Michael laughed.
"Hey Meredith do you want to come upstairs and play in my room with me?" Derek asked
"Sure!"
We ran upstairs into his room.
"What do you want to play? "
"Um, house? " I asked
"I love house!"
"Ill be the mummy my dolly can be the baby and you can be the daddy!"
"Okay! How old are you? I'm 6!" He said holding 6 fingers up
"I'm 4" I smiled
Me and Derek played house for at least an hour before carolyn shouted us downstairs.
"Derek, Meredith!"
"Coming" we both shouted
"Meredith would you like to stay for dinner?" Carolyn asked
"Yes please!" I was starving I hadn't eaten since this morning and before that I hadn't eaten since before we moved.
"We're having turkey dinosaurs, chips and beans!" Michael told us. All of Derek's sisters were sat around the huge table I tryed to pull my self up onto a chair but struggled, Derek walked up behind me and pushed me up onto the chair. "Thank you Derek"
"Your welcome Meredith"
Carolyn and Michael stood smiling with pride because of their sons kindness.
I sat next to Derek at the table and we talked about our favourite dinosaurs, and he asked me what school I was going to go to I told him I wasn't sure and he told me all about how he loves school and about his best friend Mark. After dinner it was time for me to go home, Michael and Derek walked me over and knocked on the door, my mummy answered the door which was strange since she's never home. "Oh hello, I'm Dr Ellis grey" she said as she shook Michaels hand, "I'm Dr Michael sheperd, I really love your work"
"Thank you! And thank you for having Meredith over, what do you say Meredith?"
"Thank you for having me Michael!"
"Your very welcome sweetheart"
"Bye bye Derek"
"Bye Meredith I had alot of fun today!"
"Me to, hopefully we can play again soon"
"Yeah!" He hugged me goodbye and took his daddy's hand as they crossed the street home.
"Hi mummy! Did you have fun at work today?"
"I did"
"Where's daddy?"
"He's in bed darling"
"Has the stuff came!"
"It has! Ive put your bed in your room for you, sorry you slept on the floor last night, I've put some unicorn PJ's on your bed for you"
"Thank you mummy!"
I hugged her leg and ran upstairs. My anatomy Jane doll in hand
Ellis' pov
I couldn't believe Thatcher had made Meredith sleep on the floor, I was sick and tired of the way he treat Meredith, and the way he couldn't do anything right, all he done all day was sit around on the sofa beer in hand, I don't know why I married this pathetic man in the first place, little did he know I was soon to leave him. I went into my study and sat down at my new desk and began to read up on a new surgery I had been tasked with.
