"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Tall Rock!" Mudstar called to his Clanmates. Rainsong heard him,and started licking her kits quickly. "Its time for you to be apprenticed!" She told them. "What about Poppykit and Lionkit?" Echokit asked. "They're a moon younger." Her mother told her. "Now hold still!"
When Brokenkit padded out of the nursery,with sunlight dappling her jet black fur,she saw her clanmates gathered in a circle around Tall Rock,leaving a gap for them to enter through. "Brokenkit!" Mudstar called to her.She stepped foward,paws quivering,though she wasn't sure if it was from fear or excitement. Probably both. "It has come to my knowledge that you have reached your sixth moon,and it is time for you to be apprenticed." He said."Until you complete your training,you will be known as Brokenpaw." Her heart raced. Who would mentor her?! "Cherryflight" Mudstar said "Thunderstorm trained you well. I hope you will pass on all your knowledge and skill to her." He mewed. The creamy rose-colored warrior touched noses with her new apprentice,her brown eyes shining,and they stepped off to the side.
"Echokit!" Mudstar called her sister foward. "You shall be known as Echopaw. Reedwhisker will mentor you." The brown tom padded foward,looking surprised,and led his apprentice out of the way.
"Sparrowkit!" Mudstar mewed. "You shall be known as Sparrowpaw,until you complete your training and receive your full name." He scanned the crowd. "Moonlight will mentor you." The pearly white she cat stepped foward,touching noses with Sparrowkit.The cats left,some coming to congradulate the new apprentices. Lionkit,Poppykit,and the newest member in the nursery, Reedkit,charged toward them. "Wow! Your really apprentices!" Reedkit exclaimed in amazement,studying his former denmates. Lionkit and Poppykit were 5 moons old,and he was 3 moons,but he acted like a leader already.
The kits left,so Cherryflight turned to her apprentice. "Brokenkit,prey is plentiful,so we don't need to hunt,and I'll take you on border patrol later. The other Clans have been skittish lately,so how about battle training?"
They headed to a clearing ringed with ferns and covered in soft springy moss and flowers. "This looks like a good place." Cherryflight said. "I want to see what you know,but make sure your claws are sheathed."
Brokenpaw studied her mentor. Maybe her back? She though for a moment,wondering if she could leap and grab hold and hang on top of her mentor. No,that wouldn't work,Cherryflight would expect that. Maybe she could fake it and dive? That sounded good.She readied herself balancing her weight on her haunches,ready to pounce.
She sprang foward,aiming for her mentors' back. Cherryflight raised herself up to block her,and slid under her mentor,grabbing her sides and turning her mentor over,pinning her to the ground.
Cherryflight's eyes widened as she watched her apprentice. "Where did you learn to do that?!" She exclaimed,still watching Brokenpaw in excitement and awe.

Hi! Paintedcat13 here. Brokenpaw,as you have probably realized,is going to have a power. I need your opinion on what it should be! I will give you a shoutout in the next chapter if I choose yours! I thought about,sharpened senses,which wouldn't explain much yet. Maybe something battle-related,like Lionblaze? I'm open to any ideas you guys have. Also,this is Alternate Universe FanFiction.The idea is based off the books series,but otherwise it's pretty diffrent. If you caught in the prolouge the comment about GalaxyClan,note that it is my fictional version of StarClan. And the clans are diffrent. Brokenpaw lives in TimberClan,my Thunderclan. We will also meet cats from BrookClan (RiverClan), Swiftclan (Windclan) and GhostClan (ShadowClan). I also have a SkyClan,known as SageClan. Just a little notice for you! Also, I want to see what you guys think this story is about,based on the title! And I decided to make Poppykit a medicine cat when she gets apprentices. Questions? Ideas? Comments?
