Double Life (DISCONTINUED)

{Chapter 4}

Next Morning

Peter's POV:

I open my eyes to the sun shining through the window. After a minute, I reach out to my phone to see it light up saying 9AM. I shoot up from under the covers and start running around grabbing whatever smelled decent. Running down the stairs with my bookbag to grab an apple from the kitchen yelling out a goodbye to anyone who was awake. In the elevator, I slip my shoes before basically inhaling my apple only leaving the core which I threw away in the lobby before exiting the tower for the day.

Natasha's POV:

While Peter took the main elevator which Tony made slowdown from his phone all of us took the other elevator to beat him to the bottom all piling in the van we have parked across the street to wait for Peter to come out. Another minute or so Peter comes out of the lobby door and turns left to walk closer to Broadway. When he gets half way down the block we start to slowly follow him. After tailing Peter for nine blocks he runs into someone that he seems to know by the way they smile and give each other a brief hug. Peter and the guy start walking together while they keep talking and laughing about whatever they are saying, too bad we can't hear. We keep tailing Peter until they go into an unmarked building. "Now this is starting to worry me" Bruce says followed by everyone else nodding their heads.

"So, what should we do? Stay here until he comes out?" Steve says. "We don't know how many people are in there or what they have. It would be smart to keep watch for the day to see who goes in and out of the building and when Peter leaves half of us follow him and the other half stay here to see what happens for the night" I say giving orders out.

While sitting in the van, we all do our own things. Tony uses his hologram to update something he has been working on. Bruce was doing a word search. Thor, Loki, Clint, and Bucky were playing cards and talking. Steve and I are the only ones watching the building. Two hours after Peter went into the building he comes back outside with three other guys. They all seem happy, wearing smiles on their faces, when Peter does something none of us expected. He, along with the other three guys, pull out cigarettes. None of us could believe our eyes, Peter was smoking! The group of four stay outside smoking for another twenty minutes and smoke another two or three cigarettes before heading back inside again. An hour after we saw Peter smoking Bruce, Bucky, and Clint went to sleep so they could be awake all night. Throughout the day there have been people leaving and returning with coffee and food. There was also a man in a suit that went in with what looked to be two bodyguards and they stayed for an hour and a half then left with a lot of folders with papers in them and got into a black SUV with tinted windows. We took pictures of the license plate to run through the system later at the tower.

At 6:30 Peter walks out of the building with his bookbag. He smiles at someone inside and waves at them before walking away towards the direction of the tower. Leaving Bruce, Bucky, and Clint to keep watch of the unmarked building while Tony went to the tower just as Peter walked out while Steve and I tailed Peter. Steve and I kept a good distance from Peter while we followed him, he only stopped once to tie his shoe, other than that he went straight to the tower. The only thing Steve and I noticed that was off was Peter's water bottle. It seemed normal but the weird thing was how much Peter was drinking, it was like he hasn't had anything to drink all day. Peter never really drinks that much water, but on the eleven blocks he walked he drank eight waters.

Bucky's POV:

After Tony, Steve, and Natasha left the rest of stayed to watch the building that Peter was in all day. "Do you guys think Peter is part of something bad?" I asked the others. "No. I just think he is hiding something he is embarrassed about" Clint responds first to my question. "Same here. I don't think it's anything too bad. Maybe it's just something he wants to keep to himself for a while and he will tell us soon" Bruce said giving us his opinion on what's going on. The others just stay quiet not talking or doing their own thing till it's their turn to keep watch in the front.

"Hey guys I see something" I tell the rest quietly. Everyone looks towards me too keep telling them what I'm looking at. "It's just the two guys Peter was smoking with earlier. Oh wait, there are four other people coming out too" I tell them as I keep watching out the window. "they just got in their cars and left. It looks like all the lights are turned out and they locked up the doors when they got out. I think those were the only people inside" I say leaning back in my seat.
