ever since stray kids debuted, jeongin and hyunjin would watch the first snowfall of the season together. the first time they did, hyunjin had asked jeongin to be his boyfriend. of course, jeongin had said yes.
although being in a healthy relationship, during hyunjin's hiatus, he decided to break up with jeongin due to personal health reasons. clearly hyunjin was struggling mentally at the time so jeongin was okay with it and wanted hyunjin to become healthy again.
now that hyunjin was back at the dorms, there was some slight tension between him and jeongin. obviously they weren't on bad terms, but it was just... awkward. for example, on STAYs birthday, the group did a livestream and hyunjin and jeongin happened to sit next to each other. they made uncomfortable eye contact and shared fake laughs. the only reason they did this, though, was because they were SO close until after hyunjin's break. wouldn't the fans question what happened between them? the last thing the two wanted to do was get their relationship put out onto the internet.
anyways, a few months have passed and hyunjin and jeongin are still being awkward around each other. they still have to act like nothing happened though.
jeongin's side of the story:
one early morning jeongin had been woken up to his chaotic friends in the living room, all carrying on having a good time. "guys it literally seven in the morning, how are you even awake?!" jeongin said with his morning voice, which was surprisingly very deep. that made hyunjin get a little panicked, as if he missed waking up to jeongin's beautiful bare face and messy hair, and especially that raspy voice. "sorry, innie, minho stole my phone!" changbin screamed out of breath. "it's okay, don't worry about it" jeongin said mid-yawn. he made his way to the window and opened the blinds. then he thought about the first snowfall. it was a hyunin tradition! they couldn't not watch it together. but with all of the tension jeongin would be too nervous to even ask hyunjin to watch it with him. "uh- hey g-guys. d-do you k-know when the f-firs-st sn-snowfall is?" jeongin said so shakily as if he were about to faint. "it should be tonight around eight. is everything okay? why are you acting like that?"chan responded. hyunjin knew why, but he didn't want to say anything. "tonight! that's so soon, anyways, i'm fine i don't know what you're talking about. its just... cold" jeongin said shivering. "why don't you put clothes on! you're probably cold because you're only wearing sweatpants!" seungmin joked. "ugh, yeah you're right"
jeongin went back to his room and looked through the closet to find a hoodie, but the only hoodie he saw was one hyunjin gave him. he didn't know what to do. put it on? give it back to him? ask someone else for a hoodie? stay cold? he ended up being rather brave and put it on. he didn't really care anymore because at the end of the day, they're still friends. once he put the hoodie on all of the memories of his relationship with hyunjin came back. jeongin crawled onto his bed and covered himself with a blanket. the second after he did that, he seriously started bawling his eyes out. he couldn't help but reminisce the fun they had together, the real laughs, and the dirty things they did on that bed he lies on now, except all by himself.
