Wano Kuni is a rich country.

Rich, in inner wealth. Of peaceful hearts that no one can take away from the people.

The last remaining defense to rise up against Kaido's ruthless regime. Hope where hopelessness has long ago set in.

A wish that still lives. Lord Oden's will be continued.

In each and every one of the wishers.

Near the Ringo-region cemetery, in the village of 'Sunōdoroppu' where Shachi and you are, it's almost frighteningly peaceful.

The villagers seem at peace with themselves and the world. Something is noticeably in the air, something harmonious, yet gloomy.

In secret, an annual memorial festival is held here. In honor of the victims who gave their lives in the fight for peace and freedom. To soothe the hearts of the loving survivors.

Today is that day.

On the streets through which you two walk, hand in hand, there is a lively yet peaceful hustle and bustle. Silently, the villagers prepare the festivities. Now and then someone greets you with a friendly expression, others are so focused on what they are doing that they don't even notice you.

You are welcome here. Anyone who has no bad intentions.

It's unusual for you. The people in the small village are so different from those you know from the big Flower Capital.

The ennobled society of 'better humans' is always concerned about distance and prestige, selfish and hypocritical, while the poor seem much more open-hearted and... happier.

Once again, you are in conflict with yourself, questioning the principle that you have been taught so vehemently.

Be perfect, submissive and obedient. Materialism, beauty, nobility.

Everything has become indifferent since you escaped your old life.

A new world has opened to you.

Thanks to O-Chi and Pengorou.

You're discovering a new side of yourself: Curiosity. Your eyes open up for worldly treasures.

Your gaze rests on one of the older men working on a piece of woodwork with a hammer.

You hesitate for a moment. Then you dare.

You walk up to him. To a stranger. And talk to him.

Shachi lets you guide, walking silently with you, your fingers intertwined permanently.

"Excuse me, sir?" You bow slightly, your voice weak but loud enough to draw the worker's attention.

It makes you uncomfortable. Social interactions make you nervous.

But stay brave, dare to ask.

"What is it that makes you feel peace and happiness?"

Irritated by your odd question, the man lowers his hammer, looking at you thoughtfully.

His eyes seem rich in experience, non-judgmental. Softening, in kindness, he answers honestly;

"Life. It's what we have left. Each of us has lost someone... We continue living for them."
