There was a strange man on campus. Everyone was looking at him but he didn't seem to care. He was big and scruffy, in jeans and a grey t-shirt with a muddy brown curly beard that hid his expressions. Some thought he was a VIP, his self-asserting walk seemed to speak for itself, but I noticed the looks the teachers gave him and how he went the opposite way to the principal's office. I looked at Josh, "Who do you think he is?", "I don't know, but he looks very scary," he said. The bell rang to get back to class, "I'll see you at the end of school" he says as he gives me a light kiss, "yep, see you then" we wave to each other as we head in opposite directions.
Two hours have passed and I've had enough of Maths. I look up at the clock and I see that it is 3:05, only 5 minutes left. I wait patiently for the bell to ring. After what felt like an hour, the bell rings and I walk to the front of the school. I'm waiting at the entrance of the school for Josh when I see the strange man. He looked at me while fiddling with something in his jean pocket, for some reason it made a clicking sound whenever he hit it. He approached me, "Do you know where the English classes are?" he asked me, "they're down the corridor on the left" I replied. He walked in the direction of where I pointed. I kept on waiting, I waited for about 15 minutes when I finally gave up and walked home, annoyed at Josh for not texting that he was walking with his friends and not with me.
I get home to find my mum crying and panicking while making phone calls, I feel my phone buzz multiple times in quick succession, they were missed calls from my mum. We locked eyes. Her expression went from surprise and then back to crying. "What's wrong?" I asked, My mum just held her heart and waved me over to her. I walked to her and gave her a tight hug while she cried on my shoulder. "Why are you crying mum?", "There wa-was an ac-accident at your s-school" she sobbed. "What happened?", "A-all I know i-is that there was a m-man at the school and he was cau-caught by police while d-doing horrible things," she replied. It clicked, the strange man asking me where the English classrooms were, how Josh didn't respond to my texts and my mum's uncontrollable sobbing. I stood up. I had to get out. I ran outside and I was instantly hit by rain. I felt the cold water rolling off my palm, I normally hated the rain but right now it reflected how I was in every way. I was now the one sobbing uncontrollably. I stayed out there for an hour, just crying and thinking about Josh. My mum made me come inside and have something to eat.
A couple of weeks later I was standing on a pedestal talking about how good of a person Josh and all of his classmates were. The ceremony goes for a couple of hours, when it finishes I head home. I sit on my bed wishing Josh could hear me. I'm going to join you soon Josh. Not now. Soon.
Hope ur having a better week than I am :(
