"Yeah we should meet up sometime!"

"Yes I agree. I think that would be really fun!"

"Yeah I will talk to my mom about it. When and where do you want to meet?"

"Well I will give you my dads number and I was thinking this Sunday?"

"Okay I will talk to my mom and call your dad." Jaylin was texting one of her friends she met through her cousin. She didn't get along with her cousin anymore. Jaylin didn't have very many friends because she was really country. She was a horse freak and when she did get a friend they always turned against her and talked about her. So she just gave up on all of them.

It was Tuesday so her mom had plenty of time to think about the weekend. She told her mom and her mom said that she will think about it. Her mom reminded her that her dad wouldn't be very happy that she is going somewhere other than his house. She didn't really care that much. She called her friend Hazels dad Marshall.

"Hey this is Hazels friend Jaylin."

"Hello I'm Marshall"

"Hazel and I were talking and she said to call you about this weekend."

"Oh ok. What about this weekend?"

"Well we wanted to hang out and she said Sunday?"

"Oh well we are sorting!"

"Oh ok."

"Well is Hazel with you right now?"

"Yes. Okay can you ask her what she was planning."

"Okay one sec." He put the phone on mute and Jaylin just sat there waiting. Ten minutes later she heard a sound.

"Hello? Are you still there?"

"Oh Yes!"

"Okay well she planned on having you go to the sorting thing as well."

"Oh well I don't have a horse and I don't know how to sort."

"Well we can bring our other horse and you don't have to sort. You can just ride around with Hazel."

"Okay! I asked my mom and she is still deciding so I will call you on Friday."

"Alright. Sounds like a plan!" She was so excited!

That night all she could think about was Sunday. She knew it would be a long rest of the week. So she fell asleep thinking of Sunday and meeting Hazel's family. She never met Hazel before. She hadn't even known her family. She was willing to give Hazel a chance to be her friend. Hazel lived in a town about ten minutes apart. Jaylin lived in a town called Colidaton. Hazel lived with her mom, she didn't really like her mom just like Jaylin didn't really like her dad.

Jaylin didn't really like her dad because ever since he got his new girlfriend Katy, he never really paid attention to her. Hazel didn't like her mom because she was really snoopy and to protective.

Hazel was adopted by both her parents and Jaylin was adopted by dad. So the girls had a lot alike but some things were different. One thing that was different was that Hazel was tan and Jaylin was really white. They didn't let that bother them though.
