Livi's POV
Waking up in the morning was never something I enjoyed, but today was different. I gladly woke up. Anything to escape the horrible images that had passed through my mind. I need to tell Jade. I know it won't help much, but I don't think I can do much else.
Jades already awake, lying in her bed reading. Thank the gods! Jades one of the hardest people to wake up, ever. Leaning down to her spot on the bottom bunk of the bed we share, I tap her shoulder. She looks up at me with an annoyed expression, but it falters when she sees how serious I am.
"Somethings wrong here Jade. I don't think we should have ever played that board. I don't know what to do though! I can't just act like it never happened...and I can't just forget Ac..." I blushed, but only for a moment before I continued on. "I had some kind of nightmare last night. Not like I usually do either. I mean it was so realistic. Like a time lapse of centuries of curses and demons and just..."
"Olivia...calm down okay? Your getting really warm and it looks like your gonna cry.."
"I am gonna cry Jade! How do you not get what's going on yet? We could DIE!-"
"I know!" She snapped at me in a harsh whisper. "Now shush your mouth before your dad hears you and all hell breaks lose!"
Lowering my head, I whisper so softly I don't know if she hears me. "I think it already has."***
I swear to god she's crazy. I can't believe she thinks this will work. I don't know where or how she came up with such a crazy idea.
I hope it works...
Crouching in the dirt, we both hold the stick losely. We've drawn out two X's about six inches apart, a star right between them, but about an inch down, and an inch long line another two inches below that. (media of this shown above)
Its what she called an all-earth half-ass Ouija Board. After I told her all about my dream, she thought maybe if we don't make a full one, and if we do it with earth, that the demons and whatever else won't be able to do any harm. It was pretty far-out sounding to me, but what other choice did I have? I'm not exactly the kind of person who can pull ideas out of my ass like bunnies from a hat.
Circling the stick three times around the star, we quietly asked "Is...is anyone there?"
Its not like I was expecting anything to happen. How could it? Its not even an official board.
That's probably why when it did work, the shock on my face was so obvious that Jade started laughing at me. I don't know how- not really. I mean I know my face looked kinda funny, but just a minute ago we where both more serious than ever.
Hate to say it, but I'm glad she laughed. I feel a lot less tense now.
Refocusing my attention on out make-shift board, I asked "Who is this?". This time instead of going over the letters (considering there wasn't any) the stick moved to the area below the line and wrote out the name. Ac.
I was the first to speak. "Ac! Hi! Um...well I had a dream last night and I don't I ow it was awful...is it true? Will this help? Will we still...you know..."
The stick wiggled then slowly engraved the words "calm down" into the dirt.
I laughed nervously. He was right, I need to chill out.
"Okay. So, the dream...what can you tell us about it?"
