I wish Andrew wasn't so sexy O.o ^

3rd person P.O.V

Xana swallowed hard, but choked a second later because her mouth had gone dry.

Surely this Vladik they spoke of was a different one. The same name but spelt a different way? Or maybe it was false information? Or Maybe she was mated to a v--.

No. No no no no no.

She couldn't be mated to a vampire. Why was she mated to someone in the first place?!? She was human for cry out loud. Human!!!

He must've been a mistake. He wasn't a vampire, nooooo.

Xana giggled profusely, then quieted down thinking if anyone saw her, she must look and sound like a mad women.

He wasn't a vampire. He wasn't. Nope. He couldn't be.

She couldn't remember any stories that the pack had shared of a vampire being mated to a human. Probably because upon meeting their human mate they'd drink them bone dry of blood. Xana didn't even think there were any stories of humans and vampires being destined to each other. It simply wasn't meant to be.

Wasn't meant to be.

Like she wasn't meant to be the next alpha.

Her chest tightened.

She wasn't a wolfshifter. She wasn't a vampire. She was a human. Frail but strong with a stubborn mind.

Xana couldn't stay at the meeting, she decided. She didn't want to hear the information. Her brother would update her when they got home, but she couldn't stay any longer.

With wobbly arms and legs, Xana made her way down the tree, her concentration so fractured she almost let go of her hold on the last tree branch and flung herself to God knows where. Her telekinesis had to have a lot of concentration, because if not, things like that would actually happen.

Her feet touched the ground, and Xana disembarked from the branch, letting it go slowly until it was normal once again.

Her hair was still a messy tangle and her clothes had no sense of order. She felt, and knew she looked like a mess.

With a sigh Xana took her shoes off and started walking back home bare foot.

With every step Xana took, her feet would sink into the soft earth. The trees already had leaves but the ground was working on its greenery. No flowers grew yet, but when they did they would bring some of the brightest colors known to spring; and some of the best smells to.

Once the chill from winter would wear off, the barbeques, bikes and sprinklers would come out. Which meant the kids would fill the streets once again, and college students would come back to their families for the summer. Rowdy kids would make the authorities actually work once again, and the partying students would be found out and about at night like prowling wolfs.

Xana laughed.

Like prowling wolfs hunting for booze.

Xana had to admit she hadn't actually gotten drunk, ever. She didn't think it'd be a good idea. And she didn't like the taste of alcohol. Well... at least the drinks she had weren't very good.

She blushed remembering the first time she'd ever sipped a beer.

She had gone to a friend's party and Xana just recently turned 19 like her friend. Her friend bought alcohol on her own, but with her mother's permission and super vision. The main drink that had been bought was beer.
