It had been a week since Killian had entered the office, when he entered her mind. He had left the office, but had not left her mind. Though she didn't think of him often. He'd start any day now. Emma was glad, her brother had somehow managed to or always work with the animals, or in the office. Which left Emma with the stables, muck out duty. Not that she really minded. It left her to think about everything. She was done with highschool, she had a job after that in town for a little while. But she had to give that up, Marco got sick, the old man had cancer. It broke Emma's heart to see the man this way, it broke her back too. She never had to muck out this many stalls ever before. It had been coming though, Marco wouldn't be able to work here his entire life. She didn't think they'd get a new hand this fast, though. She was happy he was here to help them. They needed a help, a younger someone who could stay around a little longer. Killian was the perfect fit. Young, strong, full of life. She only needed to stop thinking about him like he was, well a model. He was NOT that handsome. Who am I kidding...

"Em!" Neal came walking in with his big smile, arm around his girlfriend.

I put the hayfork away and got out off the stable I'd been mucking out. "Hi Lex," I smiled to the older girl. "How are you doing?" She was pretty much the older sister I never had.

"Great," Alexandra smiled, she'd been Neal's girlfriend for ages, everyone was pretty sure they would get married. "And you? I heard you were playing stable hand around here." She smirked a bit.

"Ha. Ha." I fake laughed. "Someones gotta do it, Neal sure won't." I shot my brother a look.

He held his hands up laughing. "I'm keeping you out of paperwork Mouse." Mouse was the nick-name he got me when I was little. I was pretty small for my age when I was younger, I hated it, but the nick-name he gave me made me feel special.

"Thanks for that." I said honestly. "You will be doing all the paperwork when we take over the ranch." Ha! Maybe if I smile sweetly he will actually do it.

"That's not fair, you really need to learn how to do it." Neal said seriously.

"I know! It is hard. And I'm stuck mucking out here." Breaking my back doing so, maybe I could get Lexie to help, I look at her. Probably not, she's never been one for horses. She knows how to ride but that's all.

"Killian will be here to help, he's moving here tomorrow." Neal said petting my head. I duck my head.

"Is the loft ready for him?" I ask, a bit grossed out when I see Neal grabbing Alexandras butt.

"I believe so, mom's there cleaning the last things."

I turn around smiling as I see them kiss in the corner of my eye, they are an amazing couple. I walk outside, quickly dumping my wheel barrier and it's load. I run up to the loft, it was above the barn with, well nothing right now. The barn wasn't big, mostly used to put sick animals out here, or the truck. But with summer the truck was out, and there weren't any sick cows, sheep or horses yet. As I reach the loft, I expect my mom with her bucket of soap and a sponge.

But no. It was Killian, with no shirt on. I feel the heat rise to my cheeks. "Oh you're not my mother." I quickly recover. "Killian, hi."

"Emma, love." He smiled. "Surprised to see me?"

Especially in this state, yes! "I thought you'd be coming tomorrow?" I take a step back when he comes closer to me. Back off boy!

"I had some things to take care of tomorrow, so I asked your parents if I could move in today." He is still coming closer. What should I do?!

"Oh, okay." I say a bit unsure, he was leaning in now. His face is coming closer, he wasn't going to kiss me, right? We just met! I am not up for that, even if he's hot. I don't even know him, he doesn't know me!

"Just my shirt." He reaches down behind me to get his shirt, what is laying on the chair behind me.

I clear my throat. "Sorry." I step away, still looking at him.

"It's fine, love." He chuckles at me, and puts on his shirt. I try not to stare at him as he puts it on, his abs flex and his six-pack, yes his six-pack, moves. His head pokes trough the shirt and I quickly look elsewhere.

"Well, hope you'll enjoy your stay." I joke, failing miserably. God Emma, wether he'll like it or not he'll have to stay because he works here. He works here, oh my god Emma. You can't stare at someone who works for your father! I could hit myself.

He chuckles again. "Thanks."

I smile at him and turn to walk away.

"Emma." He calls.

"Yeah," I look at him.

"You were looking for your mother?" He asks.

I was looking for my mother? Oh yes! Of course. "Yes, you know where she is?"

He nods, "She went back to the house. Something about a call she had to make."

"Thank you!" I chirp, and quickly go down and out off the barn. FUCK! Way to go Emma. You just saw Killian naked, well not naked, but his chest. And you manage to get all awkward. I sigh and head down to the house.

Why was I even looking for my mother? Whatever. Oh right, to ask how late Killian would be arriving tomorrow. I head down to the house anyway to help my mother get dinner started. Probably should invite Killian too, I mean. It's not like he has a kitchen in the loft. Stop. The. Thoughts Emma.

My mom smiles as I enter, still talking on the phone. I start to set the table, I grab five plates, one for Alexandra too, I stare at the cupboard. What the heck, I grab another plate for Killian and get to work.
