It had been approximately twenty minutes since Cora and Fay's parents had left. They didn't know anything about each other except for the fact that they were destined to be rivals. "So... Fay" Cora began causing Fay to look at her confused. "Oh, My father told me your name." She explained "I'm Cora by the way" she said in an attempt to make conversation "well then, it's nice to meet you Cora" Fay replied laughing. This was the first time Cora heard Fays voice, it was silky and smooth, and slightly mesmerising. Cora cleared her throat trying to match it "it's beautiful out here isn't it" she added as she looked at her amazing surroundings "your first time being in the Forrest?" Fay asked. "You've been here before?" "Absolutely I come here almost every day" Cora was confused. After hearing all the story's about evil creatures lurching in the dark depths of the Forrest she though no parent would expose their child to it daily. Her mother said this risk was necessary which is the only reason she was there."why do your parents let you?" She asked curiously "because I want to" Fay replied laughing a little "my parents do what's best for me, they make sure I am safe from any danger, they tell me what I need to know to survive, but there are no dangers here." Fay continued "I've been told otherwise" Cora replied "my parents never let me out by myself, only when I am with them." "So you get no free will then" Fay added "that's not true, my parents just want what's-" Fay cut her off "what's best for you, that's what they all say. It's a lie". Cora was slightly offended at what was said about her family but the more Fay said the more she realised how true all of it was. How her parents barely let her out of her own room. "Come with me" Fay said holding her hand out "but my parents said..." Cora trailed off and thought for a few seconds before deciding to make a decision for herself for once, no one was there to tell her otherwise. They walked over to the small lake nearby. Cora made sure not to slip on the muddy rocks on the bay but Fay seamed to know her way around it. Probably because she had done it many times before, but Cora still needed to get the hang of it. "You need to learn things for yourself, there are things in this realm that would probably seem impossible to you" Fay said as she placed her hand on the surface of the water. After a few seconds hundreds of small glowing goldfish swarmed around Fay's hand. Cora smiled at the sight before Fay said "go on, put your hand in" Cora was hesitant at first but eventually she gave in. She placed her hand on the surface and gasped when the small creatures began nibbling on her skin. "Watch this" Fay said as she grabbed a sharp rock nearby. Cora watched in disbelief as she scratched her hand with it "what are you doing?!" "Just look" Fay placed her hand back in the water. Cora watched in amazement, her wound healed within 5 seconds. "The goldfish give the water healing properties, with the right ingredients you can make a potion to heal almost every illness" "incredible" Cora said. The two of them spoke for hours after that, they got along pretty well for two people who's family's hated each other. "What else can this place do?" Cora asked curiously "there are too many other amazing things to uncover today" Fay answered "maybe you should come back another time with me and I can teach you" she added "I don't think so, my parents wouldn't let me leave the house, the only reason I'm here is to make amends which is a one time thing" Cora explained. Fay looked at her blankly before suggesting "then go in secret" "in secret, I never keep secrets from my parents, how will I manage to do that?" "Meet me here tomorrow night, I can teach you all the amazing magic this place holds" Fay answered ignoring her question. Cora was hesitant again, but it didn't take long for her to agree. If she wanted to survive on her own, she needed to know what she was doing.

Cora's parents had come to the Forrest to bring her back to the palace, she tried her hardest to act normal. Her mother ran towards her and hugged her tight. Cora could barely breathe and she felt her face go warm because of it. It was hard to believe that her parents could lock her up like an animal and hide her from the world, they loved her too much and she loved them too much despite the way they treated her.
