7.2 - That Feeling

That Feeling I am looking for,

It brightens up my day.

Not all the trouble in the world

Can make it go away.

That Feeling is so wonderful.

I get it when I read.

Not Shakespeare, Keats or Elliot,

But Amanda Gorman, indeed.

That Feeling always starts with: "WOW!

I wanna write like this."

But when I sit and try and sweat,

It feels more like a quiz.

That Feeling grows from an idea.

"I have to write this down!"

I park my pen on paper,

The sparkle's now a frown.

That Feeling is a thunderstorm,

With flashes, hail and rain,

My words became a scrabble board.

It's driving me insane.

That Feeling is the final judge,

Who says: "You're guilty, boy,

Of writing Precious Poetry

For cent e ment en joy."
