Prologue

Got Love Series #1: I Want To Be Free

I can't clearly remember when we first met. But I really wished we didn't. If I had known that we will meet again, I would've thrown him out of our house that time.

"Rian!" I heard Dad's voice.

"Yes, Dad!" sagot ko at agad nang bumaba. Nang makababa ay nakita ko si Dad at Mommy na may kasama ring lalaki. Who's he?

"Sino po siya, Daddy?" I asked quietly, just like how a kid would ask. I need to behave now or else they'll completely deactivate my cards.

Although, I know they're just trying to protect me, I cannot live this life forever. If rebellion would feed my curiosity of freedom, then I'd rather rebel for awhile to taste that meal than annihilate the question running in my mind.

How does it feel to be free? To be completely alone, without any guards following you so bluntly?

Dad smiled and gestured the guy. "Rian, this is Casino, your personal bodyguard. I don't know if you still remember him, but you two once met before. He's Falcon's son, so be kind to him."

What?

I don't know how many times I blinked. Two? Three? Ten times?

I let out a nervous laugh, "You're joking, right?" I asked and ended it with a chuckle. No one laughed, not even our dog.

I took a step backward. "There's no way you're doing this to me..." I said when no one answered. Never thought silence could be this loud.

Mom sighed, "Yes way, darling. Alam kong hindi ka namin napagbigyan ng pagkakataon na makaranas ng mga bagay na nararanasan ng mga kaedad mo ngayon pero..." she paused. "There's no need for you to go against us! You know we're just trying to protect you, right?"

Yumuko ako. "I know... okay. That's why let me be free, Ma. I promise, hindi na ako tatakas tuwing gabi, just don't let me have a bodyguard. That's extremely embarrassing! Ilang linggo na lang college na ako!" I pleaded.

"That's the point, Rian. Mag-cocollege ka na pero iyong isip mo nasa highschool pa," si Dad.

"Maybe because you never let me experience the things highschool students usually experience?"

Dad sighed, "Let's not argue in front of someone," he said before turning to the guy he introduced. "Anyway, we'll sponsor Casino's education too. He already took your school's exam and you both passed. From this day, kayo na ang palaging magkasama at babantayan ka niya, kahit hanggang sa school."

"Anything you'll do will be reported to me. Don't pull tricks on me, Rio, or else I'll cut your cards," he warned and later on sighed.

"Sige na. It's better if you two get to know each other at least para naman hindi gano'n kahalata na bodyguard mo siya. I know you badly don't want any bodyguard anymore so exert effort on this one," dagdag niya at naglakad na sila palayo ni Mama.

I raised my brow on the guy, must I say, Casino?

"Oh ano? Tingin-tingin mo diyan?" pagtataray ko. He just stared at me for awhile then slightly nodded.

"I'm Casino Releno. As long as you know my name, I think we'll be good," sambit niya at tumingin sa kaniyang relo. "Aalis na ako. May part time pa ako. Pleasure to meet you, Olea," saad niya at naglakad na palabas ng bahay namin.

Naiwan naman akong tulala. Grabe... I thought he's Mang Falcon's son? Bakit englishero? Masungit pa!

Napabuntong-hininga na lang ako. Lord, I really need your advice right now.
