Somewhere in jump city

-"sir, Batman and Superman are on their way, we have taken every contingency as you instructed"

??-"good. We will meet them here, they'll be forced to play by our rules."

-"will we make it sir?"

??-"very unlikely. But retreat is no longer an option, and the prize is far too great."

-"roger that sir."

The dark knight was moving from rooftop to rooftop as fast as he could, though he knew he'd get there some time after his colleague, just as he planned for.

Some time earlier

Sup-"what's the plan Bruce?"

Bat-"these are highly trained mercenaries and technologically advanced drones we're going to deal with, ever since escaping Gotham, deathstroke has managed to turn jump city into its kingdom of sorts, they're going to have numerous resources with which to fight us"

Sup-"doesn't sound like a plan to me"

Bat-"that was the briefing. The plan is simple. You go ahead, break as much and as many of them as you possibly manage, be careful to any trickery they might pull, while you're keeping them occupied, I'll deal with deathstroke."

Sup-"sir yessir"

The man of steel chuckled a little bit and expected a similar reaction out of his friend, after having waited a while he cleared his throat

Sup-"yeah right, you don't laugh. I'll see you later Bruce!"

He then boomed through the sound barrier flying ahead, while the dark knight made a sharp turn and kept going on his way

Underground bunker

"Everybody stay sharp!"

Multiple guards and bots were standing alert having moved into an open space in their base expecting the man of steel to break through the ceiling at any moment now.
As soon as the ground above them began to shake and rumble, they readied their weapons, loaded with titanium bullets, electric shock charges and the heaviest calibers.

With a loud rumble and a boom! The roof above their heads erupted and came crushing down, smashing a few drones in the process, but nothing came down after that, no red and blue goody two shoes superhero, nothing.

"Wait for it... wait for it..."

Sup-"what are we waiting for?"

Superman appeared seemingly out of nowhere next to the commander in charge, with a disheartening smile on his face and then disappeared again before anyone could so much as point their weapons.

"He's super fast! We have t-"

The commander went flying over the room with Superman standing there in his place

Sup-"I imagine you don't want to surrender?"

Everyone aimed at the man of steel and started opening fire with everything they had, bullets, electric bolts and plasma charges all came raining down on the kryptonian with a seemingly infinite rate, though he didn't seem to budge; or notice for that matter.

Superman sighed, slightly disappointed

Sup-"very well, I've tried"

He then proceeded to quickly scan the forces attacking him, identifying which ones were drones and which ones were people.
After that his eyes glowed red and fizzled before LASERING the inanimate robots that stood in his way, turning them into ash.
