After the rest of the guys hurried back to their respective sample, a guy named Ron also immediately recorded what had just happened to the dying sample on his tablet.

After that he remembered the sample number 005 who was about to wake up soon.

He walked to 005's bed and saw his data on the monitor connected to the boy's body.

"Huh the data shows he is awake? But.."

He peeped at the boy who shuted his eyes off. He seemed to understand what happened immediately.

"One of the sample woke up, i'll bring him to his assigned room"

"Okay, do you need any help?" Said a girl nearby who was just done checking on her sample.

"No, i don't. Thank you, Sherly"

"Okay then, don't forget to bring the tranquilizer. They tended to be quite fierce when they were fully woke up"

The guy called Ron just smile slightly at her as if it's a confirmation. He then disconnected all the small wires and turned off the monitor. He pushed the wheel bed to a room about 10 square meters big while the boy on the bed was still working hard to pretend to sleep and closed the door.

"Kid, i know you are awake. The data on the monitor couldn't be faked. I guess you are pretty smart not to make reckless move when you just experiencing that thing in there the moment you woke up" Said Ron as he turned to sit down on the side of the boy's bed.

The boy slowly opened his eyes. His eyes are vigilant as he gazed at Ron.

"Where am i?"

Ron was smiling without meeting the boy's eyes.

"It doesn't matter where you are now, you shouldn't have trusted the adult so much. The world is no longer as kind.. *chuckle* or maybe it never was."

"What do you mean? Father Grey lied to me?" His face turned colder.

"I don't know who lied to you, kid. But if you wanna survive, don't resist. Never ever." Ron's face turned serious, "i told you this because you have the highest survival possibility, i will not promise anything to you but i can help you survive, even just a bit longer"

The boy was silence. Since he could remember, he was never like other children in the orphanage where they only think about playing and eating everyday. He could easily understand everything and able to memorize a book he read just once. Every adult praised him but it became a double sword who also got him ostracize from his peers.

Even the teenagers there couldn't escape of being compared to him.

The beating and bullying was his everyday meal. And he couldn't even report it to the nuns nor father bcs their(the bullies) threat would just be getting crazier, and no one actually bother  child with no parent. He understood that everything had rules and someone with no power could do nothing to resist.

"What are you people going to do to me?" The boy's gaze lowered, he looked like he complied to the situation.

"We are going to run a test on you, and another 8 children that probably haven't woken up yet. It is either a direct or indirect test to find out your capabilities. It probably will hurt a little but the lab won't be so crazy to easily kill you guys"

"What's the goal of this research?"

"You are seriously asking that? I haven't seen a 7 year old as bright as you. Alright kiddo, i won't look at you as if you are a sample from now. What's your name?" Ron was amused by the adult act of the boy, he lowered his head to meet the boy's gaze and asked smilingly.

"You haven't answered my question"

"I'll answer after you give me your name"

The boy and Ron was staring at each other, one of them was gloomy and the other was smiling.

"The name the church gave me was Raynold"

"Let us begin from beginning. Nice to meet you, Ray. My name is Ronnie Brickman, the head assistant of the chief of the lab." Ron was extending his hand, eyes smiling and the careless attituted just now was nowhere to be seen. He gave off the aura of someone who could see through anything.

Ray was a little intimidated by his smile this time, he took a moment to calm himself before he grapsed Ron's arm. The two had certainly a big gap in age but their momentum were about the same.

They both took back their hand. Ron was amused by this adult like kid, he couldn't take too long inside the sample's room in case it gained him attention. So he just directly told Ray his answer.

"The lab, no. This entire land you are now is nowhere on the map. Our goverment invested this hidden land to cultivate weapon and soldiers. And you little kids were our sample to make a living weapon that has been running for almost century." Ron said it lightly as if he was talking about the weather.

"You may not believe it, but sooner or later you'll see yourself."

Ray was thinking about whether this man was telling the truth, but based on what happening earlier and those scienctis' conversations, there might be some truth in it. But..

"Why are you telling me this? What do you want?"

Ron was now getting used to this kid's cleverness.

"Unfortunately, i can't explain everything this time. We'll see each other soon, Ray"

Ron stood up and walked to the door. before he came out he looked back and stared meaningfully at Ray.

"Until then, stay alive".
