Chapter 1 ~ A Sight for Sore Eyes

Ningguang squinted her eyes as she searched the horizon of Liyue Harbor. Was that it? No, it was just a cargo ship.

I've been here too long, Ningguang thought to herself, looking around to check that no one was looking at her suspiciously. Time to act like the real head of the Quixing and act like I'm here for a good reason.

Just as the elegant woman turned around to go chat with the merchants, she saw a sight she had been aching to see for months.

The Crux!

Ningguang couldn't help smiling like a 5-year-old who had just gotten a lollipop. Even if it made her look unprofessional, she didn't care. Beidou had taken a longer trip than usual this time, taking the Traveler all the way to Inazuma.

"Well you're a sight for sore eyes, milady" a certain pirate yelled, dangling from the stern of her ship.

The ship docked, and Beidou sauntered down the ramp swaying her ever curvaceous hips as she went.

"Oh god," Ningguang muttered under her breath. Months at sea never dulled Beidou's striking looks — in fact, she was shining brighter than ever.

Beidou's swagger turned to softness as she embraced the Tianquan. "Ning...."

Ningguang felt months of longing and tension wash away with the feel of Beidou's body against hers once again.

"Don't go that long again," Ningguang whispered in Beidou's ear. She felt Beidou shiver from the contact. It was nice to know she still had that effect on the thick-skinned pirate.

Suddenly Ningguang's focus zoomed out from her little world with her and Beidou as she remembered the busy harbor around them. Regrettably, she needed to maintain her professional appearance.

The Lady of the Jade Chamber slowly extracted herself from the arms of her lover, clearing her throat and looking around the harbor. Although there were a few bystanders watching them, their gaze seemed to be mostly fixated on the imposing Crux.

"So..." Ningguang began.

Beidou gave Ningguang a knowing look. "Well it sure is nice to see ya again, Lady Tianquan. I better make sure my crew's not lazing around letting the harbor get clogged up now." Beidou promptly turned on her heel to head back towards the ship, but not before giving Ningguang an overtly playful wink.

After watching the beautiful woman once again saunter up the ramp to her ship, Ningguang shook her head in an attempt to clear her thoughts. She could think about Beidou later — hopefully, even more than think. Time to be the Lady Quixing.

She walked over to Gou San'er, the warehouse manager.

"So about that expansion to the warehouse..."

Business as usual.
