"SLYTHERIN!!"
(Y/N) froze. How could she be put in Slytherin? Her brother had been put in Gryffindor. She got off the stool and slowly walked over to the Slytherin table.

She sat alone.

None of the Slytherins wanted to sit by her because she was a potter. As the Slytherins walked back to their common room (Y/N) felt even more alone. She hadn't seen her brother since the sorting. She sat alone while everyone was eating. She couldn't. She wondered if her brother would ignore her forever. All Slytherins were bad, no one would want to talk to her anymore. She barely even understands what it means to be a Slytherin. All she knows is that Slytherin's biggest enemy/competitor was Gryffindor.

(I'm not saying anything bad about Slytherin btw. I am a Slytherin lol)

As they got into the common room all the Slytherins went to their rooms and (Y/N) just froze. She would have to room with someone who probably wouldn't even like her. She finally made her way up to her room and saw a brunette. She was just hoping that she was even a little bit nice but she was wrong.

"Ha you must be (Y/N) potter." the brunette said. "Well, I'm Pansy and I guess we are roommates but don't expect me to be nice to you."

(Y/N) just nodded her head and got ready for bed.

The Next Day
(Y/N) POV

I woke up and got ready for her first day at Hogwarts. I put on her robes which now had green accents. I then headed down to the common room and saw some of the upper year Slytherins hanging out and catching up. Then I saw Draco Malfoy. I thought he wouldn't even want to talk to me. I walked by all the Slytherins with my head down so no one would talk to me. I had accidentally bumped into someone and went to apologize but then he started to talk.

"Well well well isn't it the fake potter? Look here there has to have been a mistake, you are not a Slytherin and no one even wants you here."

I hated Hogwarts already. No one liked me. I was obviously put in the wrong house but there was no way to change that. I tried to escape the common room but Malfoy was in front of the door.

"Well, does a little fake Potter speak?" he said getting into my face.
I tried pushing past Malfoy but he grabbed my arm and once again tried to get me to speak.

"Just leave me alone, Malfoy. I don't want to be here as much as you don't want me to be here." I said as he let go and I ran out the common room trying to hold in the tears. Great, I'm already crying on my first day I thought as I tried to calm myself down.

Once I had calmed down I made my way to the great hall. I sat down at the very end of the Slytherin table to try and distance myself from everyone. I put my head down. I just was thinking, some may say that's not good but what else was I supposed to do?

I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I looked up it was the girl I met on the train yesterday.

"Hi (Y/N)! How have you been?"

"Im ok, how are you, Hermione?" I said quickly trying to get her to go away. I was not in the mood to talk right now.

"I'm good, your brother was just wanting to know how you are since you got sorted into different houses," she said, pointing over to Harry who was talking to Ron, Fred, and George.

"Then why didn't he come to talk to me himself?" I was confused because Hermione was here and not him.
"He knew the Slytherins would yell at him for being over here so he decided to stay over at the Gryffindor table."

"Oh well. I'm doing good." Hermione knew that as a please leave me alone statement so she said bye and walked back to the table. Now I am even more in my own thoughts.

Why is my brother not coming to talk to me?

Why do all the Slytherins hate me?

Will I ever make any friends here?

Why did Draco stop me specifically?

I made my way to my first class of the day which was Potions with Professor Snape. I was sitting next to a Gryffindor since this class had both Gryffindors and Slytherins. I saw my brother walk in with hermione and ron. I waved to him but I don't think he saw it because he didn't wave back.

Then Draco walked in with his friends. He came over to the table I was at and told the gryffindor sitting next to me to move and that it was his seat now. I was internally screaming. Why was he wanting to sit next to me!! I thought he hated me because I was a potter in slytherin.

"Um hi Draco.'' I tried to see why he was sitting next to me but he didn't reply, he just gave me a look.

Then Professor Snape walked in.

"There will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to enjoy the subtle science and exact art that is potion making." he was looking around the room then saw harry writing something down.

"Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not...pay...attention." Harry stopped writing and looked up at Snape. He looked nervous

"Mr. and Ms. Potter. Our...new...celebrities. Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Harry shrugged.

"You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Ms. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?" I looked at him like I had zero clue what he was talking about.

"And what is the difference between Monkshood and Wolfsbane?" We both had no clue what he was talking about.

"Pity. Clearly, fame isn't everything, is it, Potters?"

Hermione then answered all the questions.

I paid attention to the rest of the class trying to ignore Draco's attempts to annoy me.

As classes finished for the day I headed back to my room to try and get some homework done. Like why do teachers have to assign homework on the first day of school. Gladfully Snape didn't assign any today which was weird because he is the teacher i assumed would assign the most homework.
