"Thanks to mom's savings and the insurance, we should be able to hold our own here," Jamie said, holding a box of clothes up a small flight of stairs to his little sister's room.

Behind him, a short blond girl with sparkling eyes watched him with a small smile. "Okay," she said. "I can clean up on my own here. Go set up yours." She looked around and walked away from Jamie as he placed the box on the floor.

"Are you coming down for lunch?" Jamie asked.

Sophie nodded, turning to Jamie. "I wanna show you something later," she said.

Jamie smiled at her before he went back down the stairs. Sophie turned and looked around her bedroom, imagining the things she could add onto it. She loved to paint, and she painted a lot in her old house. She smiled a lot, but that was to reassure that her brother didn't worry about her.

Sophie turned to her bed, which was the normal type. Ever since Jamie's incident with the Guardians, Sophie stopped liking beds that were held off of the ground. She preferred the ones that were either held higher closer to the ceiling or the ones placed on the ground. That way she could always see what was underneath the beds or if anything hid under it, it could not be concealed.

She turned and began to unpack her things. She folded clothes, set up the closet, set up the bed, and more things. Then she heard a sound coming from behind her, so she paused and turned. Sophie looked at her bed, which was for some reason sitting on the dark corner of her bedroom despite the window being open and daylight shining into the attic room. The young girl tilted her head slightly in suspicion and squinted at the bed. Then she noticed dark shadows slithering just under the bed. Shadows shaped like vines, making small movements and stopping when the blond girl focused on it.

Sophie slowly crouched and bent down to look under once the dark, shadowy vines seeped back under the bed out of sight. What she found she did not expect, especially coming from the top floor of their house. A hole, something that looked like it was dug through dirt and not like the wood was cut.

Then a vine shot out and grabbed onto Sophie's arm. Sophie screamed as she was yanked into the hole, hitting her head slightly on the wooden frame of the bed before getting dragged down through the hole.

Loud thuds erupted in the house as Jamie burst into the attic bedroom, looking around for any signs of Sophie. "Sophie!" He exclaimed.

Jamie ran to the closet and threw open the doors, he checked the window, checked the drawers, the vents, then under the bed. There was no sign of her or the hole she just got dragged into.
