I hear a knock on my bedroom door as I quickly pull my shoes on.

"Are you ready?" Natasha questions through the door. "Scarlett?"

"Yeah, give me a sec." I respond. I grab my water bottle and open the door to Natasha in her activewear, her red hair in a small ponytail. Compared to me she looks amazing. Maybe I should have picked my good workout gear? "Hi." I greet.

"Hi." She responds. "Come on." I follow her down the hall, shutting my door behind me.

"Where are we going?" I question following her through the compound.

"To the training hall." She responds, not slowing down her pace. "Steve said it would be best to train you in there." I nod. It was test day, the day to see if I have what it takes to fight alongside the team. We go down a flight of stairs before Natasha opens a door to a hall filled with many weapons.

"Woah." I state walking into the room.

"Yeah." She responds with a smile. "You can place your things where you want." She explains turning the lights on. "I think Steve wanted to come by later and check in on you, run a few tests to see if you're ready to join permanently." She explains as I look over at her with a smile.

"Really? On the team." She turns to look at me.

"You do want to be on the team?"

"Yes definitely. I think I could be a great asset." I explain with a smirk. She shakes her head before walking over to me.

"First things first." Natasha starts, "What is your choice of weapon?" I stand in front of her in the Avengers deserted training hall.

"Well um, I used to fight with a stick." I explain. "I've also been taught with a bow and with knives." She nods her head.

"Let's get started with a stick." I nod as I walk over to the weapons area and grab a metal rod. I push a button as it quickly retracts.

"Cool." I mutter.

"Here." She states holding her hand out. I press the button again before throwing it towards her. She catches it effortlessly.

I place the bow down on the table before walking over to where I left my things and grab my water bottle.

"Are you gay?" I spit out my water before looking over to her.

"What?" I question once I've recovered.

"I think you heard what I said." She responds turning around.

"Why do you ask?" I question watching her walk around. My stomach flips as she turns back to me.

"I just got a vibe and I was wondering. Sorry to intrude." She turns away before walking and picking up the arrows fallen to the floor. I smile. A gaydar?

"It's fine. I've been told I give off, well, vibes." I explain using her wording. "The answer is yes." She turns to look at me. "Just don't tell Tony!" I order playfully. "Or Steve. Or anyone actually." I ramble. She laughs walking back over to me.

"Your secret is safe with me." She states before handing me the arrows. "Let's go again." I hesitate rewatching our encounter in my head. She snaps her fingers as I snap out of it.

"Sorry." I mutter. She laughs, shaking her head as I shoot an arrow. I do a forward roll across the mat dodging Natasha's attack. She laughs before launching towards me. I turn laughing as I move across the matts and out of the way.

"Hey look." She states pointing behind me. My face scrunched up as I look behind me. Nothing. Out of the corner of my eye I see her lunge towards me. I quickly turn around and grab her, causing her to yell slightly in fright. I laugh spinning around due to the force of her attack. I smile, stopping us from spinning. I look into her eyes as my face falls to a more neutral smile. She looks back at me mirroring the same expression. The door to the training hall suddenly opens causing us to stop and look towards it.

"This looks like fun." She steps away from me as I look up at Steve entering the hall. He smirks, crossing his arms.

"Steve, I think she is ready." Natasha states standing straight. I run my hand through my hair as she continues talking. "She has the skills, now she needs to practice with us on the field."

"Okay, she can come on our next mission. However you need to listen to us Scarlett and not go off on your own tagent." I smile walking up to stand beside Natasha. I salute Steve before speaking.

"You've got it Captain." He looks at me amused. I look at Natasha with a smile. She doesn't look in my direction before walking out.

I grab a bottle of cold water from the fridge attempting to listen to the chatter from the other room. I slowly walk past the open door absorbing as much information as I can.

"What are your thoughts?" I stop, turning to look at the group.

"I'm not really apart of the avengers am I? So I shouldn't really get a say should I?" I state waking over and leaning on the back of a chair.

"But you're going to anyway right?" Sam questions. I give him a fake smile.

"You know me so well. I wouldn't sign it."

"What?" Natasha questions as Tony looks up at me.

"Well you may cause destruction but from what I remember the battles you have won, there has always been more positives than negatives. Meaning you saved many people from what could have been an even worse fate." I explain. "I can see where this Ross guy is coming from, but so far the world hasn't ended yet, so dont fix it if it ain't broke." I see Steve smile out the corner of my eye.

"Why are we listening to her? She's just a child." Tony states sitting up on the couch causing me look over at him.

"Your child. Remember? Or did you forget? Again." I shoot back, glaring at him. I take a deep breath out before addressing the room. "Well anyway, that's just my opinion." I stand up and curtsy before walking out of the room.

"Like father, like daughter." I hear James state as I enter the hallway and make my way back to my room.
