You walk in the meadow, loving the way the grass feels on your feet. Your eyes wander over to farmer Maggot's garden, a sly grin splitting across your lips. "Well, Merry and Pippin won't be too happy that I went without them. But what they don't know won't kill them." You say. You look around you and then sneakily start making your way to his garden. "Psst! Y/N!" Merry exclaims. You stop walking and suppress a sigh. You turn and find him waving you over to behind a tree. "Quick! Quick!" He exclaims. You run over to him. "Yes?" You ask, slightly exasperated. Pippin comes running through a clump of trees and brightens up when he sees Merry and you. "Are you both going to farmer Maggot's garden, too?" He asks. "No, no, I've got something better than Maggot's garden." Merry whispers. You look at him. "Yes?" You ask, intrigued. He motions for Pippin and you to come closer. "What is it?" Pippin whispers. "Lobelia Sackville-Baggins." Merry answers excitedly. Pippin and you share a confused look. "What?" You ask, looking back to Merry. "Forget about farmer Maggot's garden! I checked this morning for some mushrooms and they aren't ready yet. But as I was passing Lobelia's home..." Merry grins. "Carrots? Mushrooms?" You ask, your eyes widening in excitement. Pippin grips your arms in excitement as Merry nods. You grin. "Let's go, boys. I have a feeling we'll be having a feast tonight." You say. Pippin giggles and Merry smiles. "Let's go." He says.~
Merry, Pippin, and you crawl through Lobelia's garden. You grab the bag hanging at your waist and reach for a red tomato. Pippin pokes your hand and grins. You snicker and reach for another as Merry climbs up further to the carrots. Pippin grabs the mushrooms and hands them to you. You stuff them in your bag. "Gently, Y/N!" Merry reminds loudly. "Shh!" Pippin and you say in duo. Lobelia's front door opens and the three of you duck further in the garden plants. Lobelia looks around, narrowing her eyes. "Is that you Mr. Bilbo?" She asks. "You wish." Pippin snorts quietly. Merry and you shoot him a look. "Quiet." You hiss. Lobelia stares in your direction for a minute and then disappears back in to her home. You let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, just a little, Merry and Pippin." You say. "Okay." Merry says, handing you a carrot plant. You grin and take it. You put it in your bag that's quickly getting stuffed.
A few minutes later, your bag is bulging. "Okay, guys, let's go." You say, crawling backwards. Pippin looks back at you, his mouth full of tomatoes. You laugh and slap a hand over your mouth to stop yourself. Pippin grins. "Close your mouth! That's gross!" You laugh. "Y/N, be quiet!" Merry exclaims. You look to Lobelia's home, her door slowly opening. "Let's go!" You hiss, standing. You quickly run out of the garden and open the fence. "Hey! Get back here!" Lobelia exclaims. "Run, Y/N!" Merry exclaims. Pippin trips. "Ugh!" He exclaims. "Pippin!" You exclaim. Lobelia grabs him and hauls him up off his feet.
You stop walking, Merry racing past you. He stops in his tracks and looks back at you. "We're in this together, Merry." You say. He sighs and nods. You turn around and head back to Lobelia's house. You stalk up to her house and hold out the bag full of vegetables. "Meriadoc Brandybuck, Peregin Took, and Y/N L/N...I should've known." Lobelia hisses. "Just take the vegetables and we'll be on our way." You say to her, as Merry stands next to you. You glance at Pippin who's struggling against her. Lobelia tightens her hold on him. "And just what were you doing in my garden?" She asks. "We're just havin' a little bit of fun." Merry answers quietly. She narrows his eyes at him. "You were stealing." She says. "We promise we won't do it again." Pippin says. "You promise? Are you sure I can trust you?" She asks. "Yes!" You exclaim. "Please, just let Pippin go and we'll give you the bag of vegetables. We promise never to come back in your garden." You say. She sums you up and then stares at you for a long moment. "Fine." She mutters, letting go of Pippin. You hand her the vegetables and the three of you run off. "Well, that was no fun." Merry says. "You want to try farmer Maggot's garden? He might not have mushrooms but he has some other vegetables." You suggest, walking between Merry and Pippin. They both grin. "Let's go for it." Pippin says. You wrap your arms around both of them and grin. "Let's go." You laugh.
