I stood there sobbing over the counter. Izuku held onto me tightly as he sobbed into my shoulder.
"Fuck..." I hissed out. "And on today of all days." I picked up the thin flat velvet box and opened it. It revealed a diamond studded housekey that had the pet names we had given her engraved on it. 'Bunny' on one side and 'Baby' on the other. It was laced with gold. The key iself was emerald green, red and silver, and majorly black to represent all of us. I stared at the key my heart aching.
"Why?" Izu hissed out. "Why!?" He cried harder on my shoulder. I sobbed silently as I stared at the key still.
We were going to ask her to move in with us. We had even renovated the large storage room to make a seperate room for her too. We knew she had liked her privacy. I sighed and tapped Izu's shoulder he let go of me and followed me to Dove's room. We opened it.
I began to sob again. I walked over and sat on her bed. Izu followed curling up next to me.
The bed was dark purple and black. It had lace linings along the blankets and there was a canopy over the top with black frills. Satin and silk sheets. Only the beat for her. She had withe pillows and the second present was on the bed.
A book. Both me and Izu's favorite. 'MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN' by Jean Craighead George The limited edition with extras and stuff. We both knew it would've been her favorite.
The rest of the room had a gothic princess vibe.

I sighed. Had it all been pointless? Waiting the extra month and a half to get everything just right and perfect for her? Had it all been for nothing? Will she ever come back? Will she be ours again? I sobbed harder as I wondered and thought about it all. That night Izu and I slept on the bed in her new/old room. We just cuddled. The room felt cold without her. Izu wimpered.
"Izu?" I asked.
"Sh-she gone i-isnt she?" I gulped and nodded.
"Yeah Izu. She's gone."
"This is all my fault." He hissed sobbing.
"You know...that...its not...I don't wish to argue about whose fault it is...especially not in her room. She...wouldnt want that."
Izuku hiccupped as he did when he was very upset. I coughed and closed my eyes pulling up the blanket.
But I still thought...no...its not your fault Izuku....
....It's mine.
