L O L A ' S P . O. V

I felt heavy press of something ice cold against my forehead. Precipitation forming small droplets of water that gently slopes down the curve of my cheek, alighting whatever small hope of conscience I clung on too.

My head tilted to the sighed, trying to escape the inevitable chill. I wanted to sleep forever, hide away from the thrumming pain that was faintly blaring away inside my head.

"Lola, Lola." That voice was something strange, electric. I could feel it's softened melody stroking pleasure against the drums of my ear.

It would be worth all the pain in the world to hear that voice again. To see it in the flesh.

I forced my eyes open, forgetting how harsh the pink and orange hues of twilight could be. "Fuck." I swore, feeling the pounding burn of my head ravage my skull.

"Easy." The voice sounded better when I was knocked out. I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist, and slowly draw me up, until I was seated.

I tried to speak but all that came out was a croaky sort of cough. A glass of water was quickly thrust into my hands. I greedily gulped it all down, finding my vision slowly coming back to me.

Lucien looked gorgeous in any light, but at dusk, as the sun sets to rest for the new day ahead, he was so much more than that, he was sole perfection.

Reaching out, he trailed his warm fingers gently over my cheek. I almost purred at the feeling. "That feels nice. So soft," Was the first idiotic thing to leave my mouth.

He stared at me, baffled and amused, before bursting out into laughter. I involuntarily smiled. The sound was beautiful.

"You've just woken up from having obtained a serious head injury, and that's the first thing you want know?" He reached out to touch my forehead. "You're not running a fever. Are you delirious?"

That fact that he was so serious had me cracking up again. He failed to hide his obvious amusement and instead, took my hands in his, bringing them close to his beating heart.

"Can you feel that?" I nodded, transfixed by something that should be so normal. His heartbeat was not, instead of the rhythmic ba dum ba dum, that all the rest of us have, his was beating more rapid, almost like it was a heart on steroids.

"Holy shit. How are you not jumping off the walls right now? Or out of breath, or..."

"I'm a vampire, a species who naturally have faster beating hearts, but the fact that I'm also a wolf means I need more oxygen, more blood circulation. It helps me prevent becoming drained of energy."

"That's...amazing." I found myself entranced by this one of a kind heart that was destined to be mine. He was destined to be mine.

With my hands pressed over his heart, I glanced up at him, like I was just seeing him for the first time. Like I understood. "Are you sure you're okay?" I nodded, gently licking my bottom lip.

No words could describe how I was feeling, except there was this raw burning passion inside of me that needed to be extinguished. That needed to be sated.

I rose up on my knees, and wrapped my arms around his neck, letting my hands trail deep into his thickness of dark hair. Tugging, just a little, it provoked a low growl from his lips. Almost too animalistic in nature. For some reason that just turned my on more.

"We shouldn't..." He struggled with his words. "You just woke up, you're injured."

"Are you trying to convince me? Or yourself? Because I know what I want, and there's no changing my mind."
