PROLOGUE
Waking up every morning to nothing, you don't even know what you look like let alone your close family. You can't see the colour of the sky; someone tells you it's blue. What is blue? To me blue is just a word, a word with no meaning, no feeling, nothing. My names Andrew Stone, I'm nineteen and I was born with no sight.

When I was younger I used to get bullied a lot for being blind. Why do people discriminate? I don't know. Everybody is different, I thought. But one day I realised I was different and my life was about to become extraordinary. This all happened when I started to see things in a new light. In 2009 September the 6th I had just turned 16 when there was a big turn of events. I had finally decided to be more confident after all the years of bullying. I wanted a new challenge so I started a group to raise money for people with the same condition as me. After about a year we had raised nearly £2000 and that's when I met her, Jace Liptee. Jace was my hero, my savior, my girlfriend. She was the one who had been there for me and that's how my life changed.
We had been dating for about seven months when Jace turned round and asked me
'Will you love me no matter what?'
'Yes, you are my world, my everything' I replied worried for what was to come next.
'Do you promise no matter what?'
'What's wrong Jace?' I asked in a calming, reassuring voice.
'I have six months to live, the doctors say I have cancer' she said, sobbing slightly.
My world slowly crashed around me but I had to stay strong for Jace.
'I will love you forever no matter what Jace, you are the greatest person I have ever met and been lucky enough to spend my life with.'
There was a short period of silence and then I asked,
'6 months is a short amount of time what do you want to do?'
'Huh?' she asked, confused
'A bucket list' I stated happily.
The months past and Jace's condition got worse and worse but every time we completed a part of the list she seemed happier. I couldn't see this but I could feel it. But finally the day came a cold October morning. I had stayed by her bedside all night, holding her clammy hand and then at 4:41am that morning she passed.
I was sad that I had lost her, my one true love, the only one who understood; but then I remembered what she had given me. Hope, faith and the feeling of love. Jace Liptee was the most special person in my life. A couple of weeks later her funeral came and her parents asked me if I would make a speech, as according to them even in Jace's darkest days I was the one who could make her smile; I was the best thing that ever happened to her and her, me.
These were the words that I had to say:
'Footprints'
'One night a man had a dream. He dreamed e was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene in his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. 'Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most, you would leave me.'
The Lord replied 'My precious, precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.' '
Jace Liptee was my everything and she is my angel and I would like to thank her for carrying me through all my bad times and to tell her I love her so... Rest in Peace Jace Liptee you will never be forgotten.
Thanks to Jace Liptee, she is the reason I am extraordinary, she changed me for the better and let me see the world in a new light.
