Down the road

The search

"You're sure he doesn't work today, Nick?" asked the tall black-haired guy to his blond partner as the were cramped up in the back of a van. In front of them stood a set up of computers and wires.

"Yeah, I'm sure Ty! It's all in there!" answered the muscular thirty year-old man holding up a copy of Rumor Has It magazine. "He never works on Saturdays."

"Woah!" said Ty taking the magazine from the blond. "He's one lucky guy, that Piper chick is gorgeous!"

"Yeah well, if everything goes according the plan, we should meet her soon enough." answered the brain of the operation.

Upon entering Buddybuilder's gym, both men were greated kindly by Jonathan Sky himself.

"Hello, welcome to Buddybuilder. How may I help you?" said the owner with a smile, standing behind the front desk.

"Hi, me and my friend here are thinking of registering for a membership at your gym." started Nick. "But first, we'd like to take a look around, see the different kind of machineries you can offer. Could you show us around?" 

"Of course, follow me!" replied Jonathan leading the way with Nick right behind him.

Ty looked around quickly making sure the coast was clear. Then, he pluged a USB flashdrive into the frontdesk's computer, typed quickly to initiate download and followed suit after the two men not to arise suspicion. 

After the right amount of time, the young tech genius excused himself by asking for the restroom, which he hadn't failed to notice was conveniently placed at the entrance. On his way to said restroom, all he had left to do was grab the flashdrive with all of the new obtained information.

When Ty came back, Nick declared that they were both gonna think about it and possibly come back for a membership. And just like that, they were out the door both smirking in victory.

At Jasper's place...

"Okay, that seems like a great workout plan." said Piper to her friend seated at her left on his couch. "I'm actually eager to start!"

"Well, I'm happy to hear that!" replied Jasp. "I know you're doing this for work but I want you to be a willing participant." he said laughing as he grabbed the pizza box from the coffee table and headed towards his small kitchen. "Do you want some dessert?

"No thanks, I'm good!" replied Piper still focused on the health plan Jasper had prepared for her.

Hearing loud noises coming from outside, Jasper came back into the living room to have a look through his window at what was going on downstairs. His apartment wasn't situated in the best neighborhood but ever since he had moved here, there hadn't really been any problems.

Of course, the boy was completely unaware that the reason behind the safe environment was because of the numerous cameras Ray had Schwoz install all around his building. The few times a situation seemed too risky, Captain Man was there in a flash making sure his precious boy was alright. Not that he'd ever admit it though.

Piper knew about the cameras and never expected for Ray to be on a mission and for Schwoz to be flying the man copter at the same time as the fuss outside started. Which is why, she hadn't even rose her head from her papers.

Jasper looked outside in confusion and saw two men getting out of a beat up van. The tall dark-haired one didn't ring any bell until Jasp saw the blond buff guy who was holding a baseball bat. His eyes widdened as he whispered the name of the visitor.

"Nick!" he said breathlessly. Grabbing Piper's arm, he made her stand up in a swift motion.

"JASPER, ARE YOU NUTS!" the girl screamed as her papers went flying.

"Shhhh." Jasper said trying to shush her desperately. "Piper, listen to me!" he firmly said taking her by the shoulders and looking straight in her eyes. "Do you trust me?"

"W...what's going Jasp?" replied Piper distraught at his sudden seriousness.

"Do. you. trust. me???" he asked again stressing each word, showing that he needed an answer.

"Well, yes of course Jasp." answered Piper anxiously. She had no idea what was going on but understood that whatever it was, had to be a serious matter. "I trust you with my life." she said honestly.

It was all Jasper needed to hear.

"Good, then listen to me carefully!" he said dragging her towards his bedroom. "You will hide in my closet behind my clothes and you will not come out or make any noise until I come and get you, alright?" he explained fast before opening the closet.

"What? Why would..." Piper started before Jasper forced her inside.

"You said you trusted me, now promise you will do as I said!" he demanded in a voice that left no space for argument. 

So Piper promised and watched as her best friend closed the door. She only had time to hear his footsteps leave the room before the sound of a door breaking resonated throughout the entire apartment.
