I'm gay. PHEW! It feels good to get that off of my chest.
Anyway, I haven't always been gay. Well, technically, I was straight because I didn't know what gay was. My first boy crush told me what it was, though. Then, I started being openly gay with my younger sister, Lelia.
We had to go to therapy because of that. My parents were worried about us. So we decided to pretend we were straight to make them happy.
And, so yeah. That's my backstory.
So let's start at the beginning.
*ahem*
One day I opened my eyes to the sun shining through the windows. I have the top bunk so I almost fell off looking over the side. I sat up and got off the bunk bed. I looked at my younger sister, Lelia, and shook her shoulder.
"Lelia, it's time to get up." I told her.
"NOOOOO!!" Lelia lazily shouted at me. I pulled her to the floor and she looked up at me, angry.
"It's time for school." I told her again.
"UGHH!!" she groaned. Lelia stood up and shoved me out of the room. Then she closed the door and got ready. When she was done, it was my turn. I got changed and walked downstairs.
"Hey mom." How's my favorite homophobic mother?
"Hello, Gary, hello Lelia." My mom said. We sat down at the table and my mom looked at us.
"Well, new school, new year, and new crush's. Amirite?" me and Lelia shared uncertain looks.
"Yep!" We replied. We were trying our best to be normal and straight. But we couldn't do that very well.
"Well," She turned to me, "you are going to have a great girlfriend and you'll be a great man for her." She turned to Lelia, "And I know you'll be the best girl for your man." She looked in between us, "You two will be great, I just know it!" Mom smiled and we did too.
"Bye mom!!" Me and Lelia shouted as she waved back to us.
"Have a good day!!" she shouted back. My mom drove off and me and Lelia were there by ourselves now."Well, time to start day one." We walked inside out new school and everything looked normal.
Except us.
Lelia's hair was colored the lesbian pride flag and mine was colored the gay men flag colors. (See: top). We looked around the hall, students staring at us. The hallway fell silent as we walked past. As we looked at our schedules for our classes, I saw that me and Lela had different first classes.
"Aww I wanted to be in the same class as you." She said sadly.
"Same." We parted ways and left for our classes. I walked into Mrs. Kelly's class and found a seat. I watched as a boy with black and white hair walked in through the door.
He's straight. I thought. I watched as he sat next to me. I stared at my desk until the bell rang. When it did, I walked over to the straight person.
"Hey." I started. He looked at me with a blank face and stopped packing up his stuff.
"Hi..." I stared blankly at him too, but I wasn't going to give up!
"I like your hair!" I complimented him.
"Uh... yours too." He stared blankly at my hair.
"Um, my name's Gary. What's yours?"
