-FEW DAYS BEFORE THE WAR-
Ying throws the dagger right in the red dot of the target.
"Nice job."
Ying turns around and sees her friend, Kang Taehyun.
"Liutenent Kang." Ying bows.
"Look at you." Liutenent Kang smiles, "You're amazing."
"Thank you Liutenent Kang." Ying clears her throat.
"I have a question." Liutenent Kang asks.
"Yes sir?"
"Were you supposed to be in the arranged marriage? Or someone else?" Liutenent Kang looks at Ying, "With General Park's kid, Park Sunghoon?"
"Ahh..that...no sir. I was only there if things would get out of hand. Park Sunghoon was suppose to marry Huang Meiling." Ying shakes her head.
"Huang Meiling?"
"A barron's daughter in Beijing, China." Ying says.
"Ahh...I see. But he was in love with Soldier Seo Eunbyul?" Liutenent Kang asks.
"Yes sir." Ying nods.
"Hm..the scandal." Liutenent Kang chuckles, "Why was there an arranged marriage planned?"
"The barron wanted his daughter to be married to Park Sunghoon after Park Sunghoon saved the barron's wife." Ying says, "Yet he refused."
"Ah..makes sense...I guess." Liutenent Kang nods slowly, "You didn't want to marry Sunghoon?"
"Liutenent, I have no time to marry at the moment." Ying responds, "Maybe once the war is officially over."
"Who will you marry?" Liutenent Kang asks.
"Whoever I fall in love with Liutenent Kang." Ying says.
"Do you really need to call me Liutenent Kang?" The man chuckles, "Just call me Taehyun."
Ying smiles and chuckles, "Sorry. It's just an automatic thing."
Taehyun and Ying have been friends since their trainee days, so it's been 7 years since they have met each other.
Taehyun became the liutenent and Ying became a commander.
"Hey...Ying?" Taehyun looks at Ying.
"Yes?" Ying looks at Taehyun.
"Can we promise to have a meal together after the war?" Taehyun asks.
Ying looks at Taehyun, "Yeah."
Taehyun smiles and hugs Ying, "Please...stay alive."
Ying hugs Taehyun back, "You too."
Ying throws the dagger on the tree.
"Commander Ying?"
Ying turns around and sees General Park. She quickly gets up and wipes her uniform.
"Yes General?" Ying answers.
"Are you waiting for Liutenent Kang?" General Park chuckles.
"..yeah." Ying nods.
General Park smiles, "Don't worry. I heard they are safe."
Ying takes a deep breath, "That's good."
General Park smiles and pats Ying's back.
"You did good." General Park says.
