Born With Feet

Hi. I'm Riley. I'm 22 years old. 7 years ago,when I was 15 years old,I learned something that changed my life. Let me tell you how it all started....

I was playing in the waves with my 2 best friends, Sky,and Amber. Amber was fun and playful. And couldn't see the bad side of things. Sky was a awesome fashionista. Today,she had a pony tail,princess Jasmine stile.

I was looking for my parents on shore, when Sky yelled," WACH OUT FOR THE BIG WAVE!" Without thinking. A dived under the water. I came back out laughing. My friends gets stare at me, looking horrified."What is it?" I say. " Y-y-your hair.." Amber said. "Your kidding." I say Amber and sky both shake there head at the same time. "You guys are serious?!" I say. "Oh, who am I kidding. Amber is not laughing!" I say nervously trying to make them laugh, or at least smile. All they do,is stand there staring at me.

"Well if you are going to stair at me like that,you might as well tell me what's ring with my hair." I say "IT'S PINK!" Sky says. I run and run and run,or in this case, swim and swim and then run all the on to shore and into the tent were all the adults are. A zip up the tent. With my friends and me inside it. Amber hands me a mirror. I stare in horror. My hair WAS pink. EVERY STRAND OF MY HAIR WAS...PINK!!!

Amber starts laughing and takes the mirror out of my hands and pushes my down on the tent floor saying," Wow,Samantha(that's my name my nick-name is Sammy ) it looks like you need to lay down." Sky puts the mirror back in my bag." Don't stress out,Sammy. There has to be a simple explanation about your hair." Amber says.Googling something about my hair on her iPhone. "I think it looks cute. It will go really good with a purple cropped tee and a flowery skirt." Says Sky. Always putting together a new outfit. "There is nothing on google about mysterious hair turning." Says Amber. "I'm going to ask my parents what's happing." I say quietly yet sternly. "Are you nuts?! What do you think they are going to do to you?! What if you cut off all your hair!" Says Sky. "Then you can wear a wig." Says Amber shrugging. "Anyway,I'm asking." I say.

"MOM,DAD,CAN YOU PLEAS COME IN HERE...NOW?!?!"I screamed.

I here the adults talking. Then Mom and Dad unzip the tent. All they do is stand there smiling. "I knew this would happen,good thing everyone else went for a walk around the beach,then going to the beach shack to go get some lunch..." I cut Mom off."Good,good, NOW CAN SOMEONE PLEAS TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON??????!!!!!!!" I scream.

"Your a mermaid." Dad says. "A what a what?" Says Amber. "I know this might seem a little crazy....but Samantha is a mermaid." Said Dad

"How about we sit down." Said Mom. We all sit down eyeing each other nervously." Ok, we are going to come right out with it. But we need you to save your comments and questions for after,Ok?" Says Mom. "Ok." We all say at the same time.

"When you were born,under the water,you were born with feet,so you mother gave you to us. We are really your grandparents. Your mother is in the sea,in prison you have come of age and you need to set her free. Only you can save her. You are the princess,your mother is queen,and your dad is king of All the sea,and was put in prison because of your moms jealous sister." says Mom, I mean GRANDMA. "This is a neckless to turn into and back into a mermaid. To turn your self into a mermaid,"she says taking a neckless from her pocket. " you say,"I wish to become a mermaid. And you can breath under water,grow a tail,all that good stuff. And to become human, you need to say," I wish to have feet." And ya,you will become human.

A FEW YEARS LATER...

I step into the water and go behind a tall rock so no one will see me. And say the words "I wish to become a mermaid." And before you know it I was saying my goodbyes, promising to be safe,and to come back soon. Then I was washed away in a big circle of water.

Years later,I come back,my mother set free,everything back the way it should be. I see my Grandma,Grandpa and my friends,I give them all a big hug. "How did it go?" Asks Grandpa. "AND THEY ALL LIVE HAPPLY EVER AFTER!" I say. And it was true. We all did live HAPPLY ever after. Together and safe. Wile every so often I would go to visit my mom and dad,happy and free

So that's the story for who I am now. My grandparents moved to Florida,and my mom and dad rule the sea. I don't visit them very often because we're both very busy. I got a job as a 7 grade teacher,and my friends Sky and Amber got married. A few years later I got married to Kyle. I half mermaid and half human. Like me.

So even 7 years later....I still live my
