Please note: This one is not a serious story really, so I'm not putting a lot of effort into it. I just make this kinda crap for fun.

Sonic wasn't always the way people saw him these days. He used to always be the quiet, situationally-violent, resistant and untrusting kinda guy... honestly, similar to Shadow... but meeting all of his friends changed all of that. He got louder, became willing to only fight for what was right, and was more easily influenced by kind-hearted people. However, there was ONE fact that never changed, and was common knowledge by now. The dude didn't have a place to live! Despite his fame and fortunes, he refused to buy a house, and refused house after house he was offered by the city of people he often helped save and preferred sleeping on rooftops and tree branches. He remained 'homeless' by choice up until he met his rival, Shadow. Shadow had the same habit. Now... don't be fooled, Shadow DOES have an apartment, he just doesn't use it. He too prefers the outside world... then again, he doesn't rest. After his rival had found him and woke him up with a surprise attack one too many times over the course of several years, Sonic finally caved and accepted a house. One deep in the forest, with no foot traffic. But something else was odd about this spot. No animals dared to come near it. No deer, no strays, not even birds would fly over it. It was as if there was just a circle around the property. Of course Sonic just brushed it off. He didn't mind the quiet. Interestingly, while his friends helped move the stuff he was storing in their houses into his new house, Sonic found something unusual in his attic. A door. Not a large one... one that if a person wanted in, they'd have to crawl through. Curiosity flooded the blue blur and he decided to give the handle a tug. Shockingly to him, it opened... no lock or anything. That surprise and excitement left him when he realised that behind the door was just a stupid brick wall. He closed it with a huff, adventure ruined. He went back to help his friends, but after getting outside, he glanced up. It looked like there was a LITTLE bit of space from where the door would be and the end of the house walls. 'Maybe there's a small crawl space behind it...? I hope that there isn't a body or something trapped back there. People can be so cruel to things smaller than them.' He thought. He moved boxes inside and decided to take out some tools and break away a brick or two after his friends were safe and sound, far away in their own homes. In case something went wrong. Soon, he was up in the attic once more, chiseling away at a brick behind the mystery door. "Come on... Ahah!~" Sonic cheered, successful in moving one of the bricks out of it's place. Taking a flashlight, he peered inside. To his delight, there appeared to be another handle... another door. The space between the doors was bigger, you'd still have to crawl through but it wouldn't be a tight fit like it would be getting through the actual door itself. He spent hours breaking the bricks down, but finally managed to get it open. With a deep sigh, he struggled a bit to get through the door, but when he did, he crawled to the other side and his gloved hand slowly opened the second door, which also wasn't locked. The blue hero crawled through the surprisingly bigger door on the other side and stood, covered in cobwebs. Although it took a moment to register, Sonic soon realized... he wasn't alone... nor in a dark space. It was bright, and something... was... humming. A soft song. Instinctively, Sonic kept quiet to find the source... he snuck around this new MASSIVE section of his home, and ended up in a second kitchen. Upon getting there he saw Shadow! Shadow had his back to him, seemed to be cooking, and was humming the delightful melody. Unsure how he ended up in his rival's home, he was about to turn to leave... when a familiar voice stopped him dead in his tracks. "Well aren't you going to say hello?~" Sonic turned back around, looking at him. "Yes you, silly... Hello!~" Shadow greeted, still not turning to face Sonic who blushed in embarrassment of getting caught. "S-sorry Shadow! I was exploring in my house, and I have no idea how I got here, I SWEAR." The striped hedgehog distanced from him smiled, unknown to the poor explorer. "Hungry? Dinner shouldn't be long, my love..." Sonic was shocked to hear those words. Partially because he had only apologized, but mostly because Shadow didn't love anybody. The being surprised him further when noting the shock on the trespasser's face. "Oh... you weren't warned, were you?" He laughed. "My dear, you must play along." He demanded. "Uh... 'Play along'....? What's going on Shadow?" An aggressive knife chop silenced Sonic in an instant as Shadow turned around, eyes closed and smiling with his head tilted down. "Don't you like games? Everyone likes games. So you must play. Would you like to play the game? Or not." Concerned for his safety, Sonic nodded. "O-ok Shadz... um... how do you play...?" Silence.... followed by an unsettling laughter. "Oh, good... Yes... rules. You must return at least once every night. Yes?" "Alright... but what game ar-" "What is your name?" Shadow interrupted. "....Tony." Sonic lied. "Your REAL name." The other huffed. His friendly smile dropping upon receiving a fake name. "....S-Sonic. Still a nickname technically, but I only go by that." The smile returned. "Good. Sonic, we are going to have plenty of fun together!~ Do you accept my terms?" Sonic was then confused. He only seemed to have one rule.... return every night. Never said how long he had to stay or how long the 'game' would last. So he decided... why not. "Yes..." The eyes of the being flew open and his head tilted up excitedly. "Good!~" Sonic stepped back after seeing his eyes. They were just like anyone else's but where the black in his eyes should be wide and rounded like the real Shadow, they were thinly slit. Similar to that of a venomous snake.
