Yoongi | Days never felt dragged out or boring while working in the little book shop in Victoria Square as not many people frequent this part of the town which means my day consists of reading books in the cosy, large chair in the corner. This day was just like any other as I lit a soft blanket scented candle and opened my current favourite book when the door slowly opens to reveal the rainy, miserable day outside. As I gaze up from my book I lock eyes with a ethereal man who's approaching me with a smile, I return the warm expression as I ask him if he needs any help. "What are you reading?" he questions me, "The song of Achilles, I've been really liking it so far" I simply reply. The man decides to buy my recommended book and as I'm handing him the bag he tells me his name is Yoongi. Just as I was about to ask him out his phone rang, he waved and said "Thank you" right before the door shut and left me there, wishing I acted faster. The next day at work was again the same although this time I felt regretful and lonely, the calming atmosphere was now sombre. That was until the shop door opened to reveal Yoongi again, I was greeted with the same gummy smile as yesterday which made my heart flutter, maybe he had came back with the same intention I had. Everyday since then we've shared the cosy atmosphere when he visits at the exact same time. Eventually I worked up the same courage as I had the day before to give him my number but even then, our memorable book shop meetings didn't end.
Hobi | A sigh of relief leaves your body, after all you were glad you had the courage to end it, but the hard hitting realisation finally hits you brutally, two years wasted on someone, someone you thought was your twin flame, your other half turned out to be nothing but a fake. a single tear escapes your eye as you call the elevator to leave your now ex boyfriends apartment complex. The elevator opens almost sorrowfully mirroring what you truly felt, the doors fully opened now revealed a figure, avoiding eye contact you stare at the ground trying to hold it all in until you get home. Your thoughts become overwhelming, a single tear quickly becomes a sob. You feel eyes on you, it feels sinister, the sinister feeling is soon followed by a quiet shuffle with a gentle hand on your shoulder. "hey, are you alright." an unfamiliar voice calls out with a sympathetic tone. "uhm yeah." you force out trying to mimic a somewhat genuine smile, wiping the tears from off your face. As the elevator reaches the ground you peer out the lounges window rain thrashes the window, its deafening. The polite Stranger seems to be looking at you, as you take in your surroundings foreshadowing the painful flu that was coming your way with your distant trek you had to make home. Again you let out a deflating sigh preparing to face the cold outside. you are met with a now semi familiar tap "please take this" you look down, the gentle stranger is offering his coat to you. "please, you'll get sick" building up the courage you manage to take in the strangers visuals, he's sweet looking, the type of boy you'd save to your Pinterest board. "thank you" you spill out with the most genuine and thankful smile you have ever given anyone. You quickly put on his coat. "call me if you need.. if you need someone to talk to" he says gesturing towards the pocket of his jacket that you were now wearing, placing your hands in you feel a crumpled up piece of paper, with his number on it. You smile up towards him hoping that he knows how endlessly grateful you are for his kindness. What was meant to be the worst night of your life might not be so bad after all. As they say everything happens for a reason.
Namjoon | After months of travelling through big cities in the hopes of my dancing career to take off to no avail, I've ended up in Korea feeling hopeless and ready to go home. I decided that if my upcoming audition was declined that maybe this just wasn't for me which made my heart break as dancing and performing has been such an important staple in my life since I've been young. The next two days were filled with anxiety, fear and excruciatingly long hours of perfecting my chosen dance. These feelings were extremely heightened once the day was actually here. I stood in the queue which wrapped around the building waiting for my audition. Just seeing the amount of girls who also longed to be placed in a girl group made my heart sink, I had been turned down so many times so what made this any different. By the time I was walking into the building for my audition I had came to terms with being rejected once again, I felt the passion I once had for dancing crushed right there in the audition room. On shaky legs and nerves I finished my audition feeling confident that I didn't completely blow my chances although the dread and doubt still lingered due to my countless attempts. While heading out of the building I messaged my friends to tell them how my audition went but due to my eyes being locked on my phone I somehow managed to get lost within the large building. I began to be consumed by panic but was soon able to release the breath I had been holding when a tall man rounded the corner. He was obviously taken aback by the sight of me, awkwardly smiling and staring at him with a lost expression. "Are you okay?" he asks me with a comforting smile, "I mean not really, I've somehow gotten myself a bit lost trying to find my way out" I answer feeling a bit pathetic having to ask for help. The comforting man takes his hand off the door handle beside me which makes me feel guilty as he's clearly got somewhere to be. "Oh don't worry, I used to get lost in here all the time. Let me show you the way out" Relief fills me, I'm so thankful for his kindness. "Namjoon" He informs me of his name while raising his hand which I shake before telling him my name too. "What brings you here?" Namjoon questions me, "Auditioning for the new girl group" I plainly respond which makes his face light up after telling me that he believes I'll be chosen. Eventually we reach the entrance which I wished was further away so I could continue to be in the company of Namjoon. He takes his phone from his pocket and hands it to me "would you want to give me your number? Then you can let me know if you got the audition" He awkwardly says and smiles. I type my number into his phone and walk away feeling accomplished, I no longer felt as though my many months of travelling had been put to waste.
