If you didn't know, this is rewritten from an old story from my Quotev. I hope you enjoy it!

The sunlight streamed into my room and my eyes. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, standing up to walk down into the kitchen of my tiny home.

My mum was making breakfast with my dad reading The Daily Prophet. "Good morning, Kiara!" Mother beamed.

"Morning," I replied groggily. I sat down in the dining room but heard faint tapping at the window. Turning towards the noise, I noticed a brown barn owl with a letter in its beak.

I lept towards it and opened the window, taking the letter from the sweet animal. I turned it over and saw the words, "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

I squealed, "I'm going to Hogwarts!!"

Mum opened the letter and smiled, handing it to Dad, saying, "Well, it's time to go shopping!!"

The family walked from store to store in Diagon Alley, getting all the needed supplies. When they walked into Madam Malkin's, the woman there stood me up on a stool and began fitting me without a word.

A little while later, a pale boy walked in with his mother. Madam Malkin stood him up on a stool as well. I stared for a moment at him.

He had a small, pointed face and slick-back blond hair. He looked up and stared back at me. I turned my head away and looked at all the pretty colors of the robes.

The boy coughed, and I turned back around. He spoke. "Um, hey. Are you a first-year?" I nodded shyly. He smiled. "Cool. By the way, I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, and I'm a pureblood wizard."

I rolled my eyes. Of course. Pureblood. Why must we even have blood statuses? We're all either Muggle or Wizard. Ugh.

Draco broke me away from my thoughts. "So, um, what's your name and blood status?"

I looked at him blankly and replied, "I'm Kiara. Kiara Parks. And I'm pureblood. Blood type doesn't matter to me, though." Draco nodded slightly and looked down.

Soon, Madam Malkin took the cloaks off me, and I was set free. After purchasing the robes, my parents tugged me away hurriedly. Dad whispered, "He's a Malfoy, Kiara. Don't associate yourself with him."

Finally, it was time to board the Hogwarts train. I scurried into a compartment and shut the door. I had already dressed in my uniform, being too excited for my arrival at school. I waved goodbye from the window and laid back in the seat.

A boy of my age opened the door. "May I come in? Everywhere else is full." I nodded, and he came in, followed by a redhead carrying a rat.

"Sorry I followed you. I needed a compartment. Do you mind at all?" Both of us said no, so he made himself comfortable.

"So, what are your names?" I asked first.

"I'm Ron Weasley. I'm sure you'll be seeing my brothers around a lot."

"I'm Kiara Parks. There's nothing much to me other than that I like to write and do fashion."

"That's still pretty interesting," remarked Ron.

"I guess," I replied.

"I'm Harry, Harry Potter." The air seemed still for a moment. Harry Potter? THE Harry Potter?

Ron spoke first. "Really? Do you have the-- you know?" He pointed to his forehead.

"Yeah," Harry pulled his hair away to reveal a lightning bolt scar.

"Wicked," Ron and me stared in awe.

After a few minutes, a girl walked in. "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one." We all shook our heads.

The chubby, sweet-looking boy beside her wailed. "I've lost him! He keeps getting away from me!"

Ron rolled his eyes. "I'm sure he'll turn up."

The girl nodded but didn't go away. "Are you first-years?" We all nodded again. "Well, I'm Hermione Granger, and this is Neville Longbottom."

"Hi. I'm Kiara."

"I'm Ron."

"Harry." Hermione gasped, and Neville nearly fell over.

"Harry? As in Harry Potter? I've read SO many books about you." She seemed to be talking a mile a minute. "What's up with your glasses? Well, I know a spell that can help. I looked through my books a bit."

She pointed her wand at his glasses. "Oculus Reparo." She had fixed his glasses. "Well, we must be off. See you." She and Neville left.

About an hour later, Draco entered the compartment. "Everyone's saying how Harry Potter's in this compartment. And here he is!"

Harry looks up. "Hi."

Ron stares fiercely at Draco, but Draco's attention is on me. "Oh hi, Kiara. Good to see you again." My hands started shaking out of nervousness, and I pulled them under my sleeves.

"H-Hi, Draco."

He then rounded on Ron. "And I already know who you are by the look of you. Red hair, hand-me-down robes, you're a Weasley." He turned back to Harry. "Better not make friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."

He reached out his hand. Harry looked at it but didn't take it. "I can figure out the wrong sort for myself, thanks."

Draco's face twinges with pink. "So, Kiara, you gonna join my friends and me?"

I rolled my eyes, not pleased with his attitude towards the boys. "Not today, thanks."

Draco's face flushed slightly pinker. "Well, bye."

After a long ride, we arrived at Hogwarts. We all stood in the middle of the Great Hall as Professor McGonagall called out names.

"Hermione Granger."

"GRYFFINDOR!"

"Draco Malfoy."

"SLYTHERIN!"

Draco smirked a bit as he walked to the Slytherin table, which made me shiver.

"Ronald Weasley."

"GRYFFINDOR!"

A group of boys from the Gryffindor table started chanting Ron's name, rendering Ron a blushing, embarrassing mess.

"Harry Potter."

Whispers followed Harry as he walked up and sat on the stool.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Finally, it was my turn. "Kiara Parks."

I walked up to the hat, and it flopped over my eyes. I heard the hat's voice as if it was drifting back and forth in my head. "Hmm, difficult. She's adorable and non-confrontational. She'd be quite the fit for Hufflepuff. But then again, there's a fire inside her that would be perfect for Gryffindor. I'll have to weigh both options...."

I was waiting for a while before it yelled, "GRYFFINDOR!"

I sighed in relief and quickly walked to the Gryffindors. Hermione slapped a seat next to her, and I sat there. I watched as Draco stared at me throughout dinner. I didn't know whether Draco was as trustworthy as a Slytherin.
