"Faggot"
This word has a traditional meaning of 'a bundle of sticks'. These days, that is not the case.

Back in the middle ages, people who were 'abnormal' would be burnt at the stake. This is a classic case of the 'blame game'. When something occurred in a village that the villagers had no control over, they would blame others. Often in this case, females would be blamed due to the 'witchcraft' they practiced that obviously caused drought and natural disasters. These 'witches' were then burnt at the stake. People who exhibited 'gay' traits were also burnt on a faggot of sticks. The violent and vicious nature that the origin of this word displays makes us wonder if the people who commonly use it truly know where it originated from.

It is incredibly rare for me to walk by a crowd of adolescents and not hear this word being used to insult someone who doesn't identify as gay. Even if the presumably insulted person was gay, the common usage of this word is unacceptable.

People need to realise that it is HOMOPHOBIC to attempt to insult someone by calling them gay or a faggot. Myself and many others do not tolerate homophobia on any level. So please, if you are not intending to be homophobic, DON'T USE THIS WORD!! And if you are, well, that's a completely different case.
