"Almost half the class is off with this awful bug." Tohru thought, glancing around at the sparse classroom.
This awful bug has been taking her classmates down one by one, and from what she'd heard, it's a nasty virus. Luckily, neither Kyo nor Yuki had gotten it.
"That would be a nightmare." Tohru thought, imagining how awful it would be if one of the Sohmas was to catch such a virus.
"You zoning out, everything alright?" Arisa asked, glancing back at Tohru.
"Oh, I'm fine." Tohru assured, "I was just thinking about how so many people are off sick with this stomach bug."
"Mm, I had a few days ago, it was like I was dying." Arisa said, "You're lucky, Tohru. You haven't had it yet."
Tohru smiled, "And I hope to keep it that way."
"I agree with Tohru, I wish to keep my health." Saki added, "I sense so many peoples waves are changing when they are unwell. It isn't pleasant."
"Have any of the Sohmas had the virus yet?" Arisa asked, looking back at Tohru.
She shook her head, "No, and I hope they don't. From what I've heard it is an awful bug."
Obviously Tohru didn't want to see her friends suffering from his bug, but she also worried they could transform if they got too sick. All she could do was hope, it was Thursday afternoon, one day until the weekend. Fingers crossed.
OooOooO
"Good morning." Tohru greeted as Shigure and Kyo entered.
"Why are you so cheerful?" Kyo asked, grabbing the milk from the fridge.
"Don't take your grumpiness out in her, Kyo." Shigure scolded.
Kyo scoffed, taking a large gulp of milk from out of the carton.
"Where's rat boy?" Kyo asked, noticing he wasn't their yelling at him.
"I didn't think you cared." Shigure said, purposely annoying Kyo.
"I don't care!" Kyo snapped, "I was just...Nevermind!"
"Don't get your whiskers in a knot." Shigure said, a mischievous smile spreading across his face.
A few more minutes passed, Tohru finished making breakfast and set up the table. The three of them has almost finished their breakfast when Yuki finally appeared.
"You sleep in, Rat boy." Kyo said, frowning.
Yuki didn't answer, he just silently sat down beside Tohru. He didn't bother to greet any of them, which made Tohru a bit suspicious.
"Is everything ok, Sohma?" Tohru asked, "You seem upset."
"Pay no attention to him, Tohru." Shigure added, "He's always moody in the morning."
Shigure was expecting Yuki to snap at him or at least to acknowledge he spoke, yet the rat said nothing. He started at the table, sipping a glass of water and slowly nibbling the food Tohru made.
"We better get going." Tohru said, collecting the bowls and heading into the kitchen.
She was about to take Yuki's bowl, but stopped when she realised it was still almost full.
"Are you finished?" Tohru asked, "Was there something wrong? Did taste ok?"
"It was fine, Ms Honda." Yuki answered, "I'm just not hungry."
Tohru grabbed Yuki's bowl and headed to the kitchen, a worried frown on her face. It wasn't like Yuki not to eat, maybe something was wrong.
Tohru quickly cleaned the dishes and prepared to leave for school.
"Hey, Rat Boy, hurry up!" Kyo yelled, standing beside Tohru.
"I'll catch up." Yuki's voice answered, "You go."
Kyo scoffed, storming down the path. "You coming?" He called back, seeing Tohru hadn't moved.
"Oh, yes. Sorry I zoned out." Tohru said, rushing to join Kyo.
OooOooO
Yuki sat on his bed, staring down at the floor. Something wasn't right. He felt cold, so much he was shivering, but it was summer. He felt guilty that he didn't eat what Tohru made for him, but he wasn't hungry. Wel, not entirely true, he didn't eat because he didn't feel good.
In addition to his body shivering from the absent cold, his stomach was hurting and he felt slightly nauseous. It was a dull stomach ache, but when he moved it felt like he was being stabbed.
"No no no, this can't be happening." Yuki thought, slightly panicked.
He'd heard about the stomach bug going around the school, but now he was thinking he might have it. Tohru and Kyo were already left for school, if he didn't get moving, he would be late. He took a deep breath and slowly stood up. A faint whimper escaped his lips, as he pressed both hands against his aching stomach.
Take each step slow and steady, Yuki made his way towards the door, out of his room and towards the front door.
"It's not like you to be late." Shigure said, seeing Yuki pass my the living room.
Yuki didn't answer, which he knew seems rude. But if he spoke, Shigure might figure out he's not feeling well. The rat slowly walked down the path and stairs and began his walk to school. He had both arms crossed around his aching tummy. He would have stayed home, but he knew Ms Honda would worry if he did.
But, what if he transformed at school. Well, it was too late for that now.
OooOooO
Yuki arrived 5 minutes late. He stumbled into class almost like a drunk man after a night of drinks. Tohru couldn't stop staring at him, something seems off about how he looked.
"Wonder why the Prince was late." Arisa said, looking at Tohru for an answer.
"I don't know." Tohru answered. "But I have a feeling something is wrong."
"His waves are different." Saki said, "but he has such peculiar waves, I cannot pinpoint why."
Tohru kept her eyes on Yuki, and when the class ended she watched as he stood up, stopping suddenly and grimacing. He pressed one hand against his stomach as he exited the class room.
"I don't think he's feeling well." Tohru thought. "Uh Oh, does he have the viral stomach bug?"
Tohru stood up and rushed from the classroom, scanning the hallway to find Yuki. But, he was gone.
"Tohru?" Arisa asked, "Is something wrong?"
"Oh, it's nothing." Tohru lied.
Yuki hoped he'd feel better when he got to school. But it was the reverse. His stomach ache was getting worse, and now he worried he might actually be sick. After his first class finished, to hurriedly made his way to the boys restroom. Barely making it there before the little amount he had for breakfast came back up.
Poor Yuki sat on the bathroom floor, hunched over the toilet seat. No one else was in the restroom, luckily. He was whimpering and whining to himself, he knew now he was too sick to be in school.
One he felt good enough to stand he made his way out of the restroom, and to the nurse's office. The second he walked through the door, the nurse could see right away he wasn't well.
"Oh my dear boy, you look so pale." She exclaimed, "Looks like you've come down with the stomach bug too."
Yuki didn't say anything, the nurse guiding him into her office.
"Do you mind if I take your temperature, my dear?" She asked.
Yuki nodded. She handed him a thermometer, requesting he place it under his tongue. It only took a few minutes for the reading to come through.
"Oh dear, 101.6." She said, "You poor boy."
Yuki started panicking when he heard her say he had a fever. It was obvious to him, but he didn't expect he had such a high one. The only thing in his mind s was that he might transform.
"I think you should go home." The nurse said. "Do you have anyone I can call?"
Yuki shook his head, "I don't live far, I can walk."
"I would recommend that, not in this state." The nurse said.
"I'll be fine, I promise." Yuki said.
"We, if you're sure." The nurse said. "I'll let your teachers know your going home."
Yuki thanked the nurse and rushed out of her office and towards the exit. He just needed to get out of the school, he would prefer to transform on the streets, rather than in school.
"Where is sohma?" Tohru asked, trying to find him before break ended.
No one had seen him. The last place she looked was the nurses office.
"Not you too Ms Honda." The nurse said.
"Oh no, I'm not sick." Tohru answered, "I was just wondering if you'd seen Sohma?"
"Oh, yes." She answered, "You just missed him. The poor lad come down the stomach bug that's going around. I sent him home."
"Did you call Shigure?" Tohru asked.
"No, he said he'd walk home."
"I've got to go!" Tohru exclaimed, "Twll my teachers ill be back soon."
Tohru dashed out of the school, scanning the streets for Yuki.
"I hope he's ok." Tohru worried. "I don't want him wandering the streets alone if he's not feeling well."
