It's not every year that Tara got to spend the Christmas break with someone.
She was always too busy working at the BAU for endless cases. Not that she minded anyway, she loved her job, and she didn't really have someone waiting for her at home.
No one to decorate the house with, or unpacking the gifts.
Her father was out of pocket. He didn't live in Virginia, and with the feeling of loneliness there it was the guilt of not visiting his father more often.
But that year something was finally different. That year she had a beautiful dark haired with bangs lady who was trying to cook some pasta recipe that Rossi told her.
Emily had her hair tied up in a messy bun, a sauce dirty apron hanging from her neck and clearly had no idea of what was cooking.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Tara came to the rescue.
"Not at all! I've everything under control." She smiled.Tara raised her eyebrows. For a profiler, she was bad at lying.
"Okay, perhaps I forgot some steps." Emily surrendered.
Tara smiled tenderly.
"That seems great anyways." And she meant it. It didn't look like Rossi's bolognese pasta, but she would've still eaten it.
To be honest, she would eat everything Emily cooked, and she would do everything Emily wanted. That was a bit cheesy, but she couldn't care less.
That's the power of love."Let's just eat it, and then we can go out in the snow." Tara proposed.
Emily's smile was way bigger than the first one. She loved snow and everything that was winter-related.

Definitely some steps were missed, but it tasted good. Tara made sure to tell Emily that, she could feel the wave of disappointment flashing through her face at the thought of failing. She knew that for Emily every bit of attention for her partner was important, and Tara truly appreciated all her efforts.
They were now walking in a snowy Central Park. They decided to spend the Christmas break in New York because they wanted to see with their eyes the magic that Christmas could bring to the city.
And they weren't disappointed.
"You know, despite travelling across pretty all of the globe due to my mom's job, we never managed to get to New York on Christmas. I'm glad I'm finally doing it with you." Emily said, looking into Tara's eyes.
"And I'm glad I'm making a dream of yours true." She smiled, truly touched by Emily's words.
Actually, touched was an understatement: her heart was filled with joy and endless love for her.
Emily moved further into Tara's arms, placing her head on the tallest's shoulder.
"It's almost time." Emily stated after checking what time it was on her phone.
10 seconds to Christmas.
"Is it?" Tara asked rethorically.

"Yeah"

"We didn't end our walk." Tara faked a whimper.

"I guess we'll have time for that." Emily smiled.

"If you say so." She rolled her eyes playfully.

"1" Emily kissed Tara's lips, finally. They were united as they were one person, their embrace grew tighter and tighter, clothes grabbing, anything to feel each other as close as possible. And also because it was freezing.
When they pulled away, it seems like forever and a second had passed at the same time.
"Merry Christmas, Emily."
"Merry Christmas, Tara."And heck, that would have been a very merry Christmas.
