My eyes open and I hear my alarm blaring so loud I'm surprised my ears are not bleeding.  I roll over and shut it off before my cats jump on me to make sure I'm alive. As I slide out of bed my feet hit the cold wood floor and I'm instantly shivering. "I'm taking you with me." I say and I wrap my blanket around my shoulders like a cape.

I let my body curl into the blanket as I walk downstairs to the kitchen. I need coffee ASAP before I realize I'm hungover. As I'm waiting for the coffee I make some scrambled eggs while my cat Olive rubs her head on my legs.

I eat most the eggs and drink a few cups of coffee then head back upstairs to get ready for the day. I put some music on and have a little impromptu dance party before making my bed and taking a hot shower.

I wipe the steam off my mirror and see the black streaks left from my eyeliner from my makeup I didn't wash off last night. A couple small pimples forming on my forehead and jawline. "Ugh why do I keep sleeping with my makeup on!" I let out a sigh. I remember that my friend bought me these star face patches for my birthday. I place them on the counter so I remember to put them on when I go to bed later.

I flop onto my bed with my hair in my towel and scroll through my phone. I work online so my phone is blown up with notifications, most of them don't really matter but I still have to go through them all so I don't miss anything.  It takes me about an hour to do so, I have a few orders I need to take care of. One person ordered a custom acrylic painting that will probably take a minute to complete so I need to go get the supplies for that.

My outfit for the day consists of some black skinny jeans, ankle snakeskin boots, and a fluffy red sweater. I wear the same two necklaces every day and never take them off. A moldavite crystal and a moonstone crystal. I decide to skip the makeup since my skin doesn't look the greatest and quickly braid my wet hair.

At the art supply store there is this guy who works in the paint section that I hope won't be there today with these craters on my face.  I have spoken to him a few times and you could say I might have the hots for him. I don't know how anyone couldn't. He has shoulder length black hair that slightly curls to frame his face. And his beard is cleanly trimmed and make his bright green eyes look like emeralds.

The first time I saw him there it was his first day working there. He recently moved to San Francisco because the art store is his families business and his father is wanting to retire, which means he will be owning the store soon.

I get to the store and head over to the canvas section while checking the order summary on my phone. This client wants a 30 x 40 landscape themed painting, which is my specialty.

I find the canvas I need and start to turn around and hear "Hey Sterling. Do you ever leave this place? I feel like you are here more than I am". As soon as I hear the voice I know that it's Kaleb, the person I described earlier.

I laugh a little bit. "Well you know some of us have actual work to do", I give him a hard time.

"Oh, is that so?" He smiles and lets out a sign, "Well then I better let you get to it. I was going to show you this new paint brand we got but I don't want to keep you from anything."

I look at him serious. "Okay well you have to show me now. You can't just say that. You know me I have to own every art supply introduced to man".

He nods and smirks then leads me down the little aisle to the paint section. He points to the row. "I know you are going to go nuts. These are color shift paints. I actually bought a set and played around with them let me grab it from behind the counter."

"WHAT these look so cool. I'm so excited" I kneel down to admire them as he goes to fetch the painting he did. When he comes back I'm so surprised by the pigment and the way the color changes when you shift the paper I just grab every color they have.

"Yeah I dabble in art too. You aren't the only artist around here" he laughs at my face.

"Well, this is San Francisco" I laugh "but this looks really nice. You have a nice style".

"Thank you. You kinda motivated me to start painting again. I haven't been into it for a while. But uh.." he shifts on to his other foot and moves the painting down by his side, "I was kind of wondering if you wanted to hang out, like outside of here sometime?"

"Really I motivated you? Wow... but that sounds really nice actually. I'm free tomorrow night if you are?"

"That works with me" he pulls out his phone and I put my number in it. Then he says he's got to get back to work since more customers have came in and I finish getting my supplies I need and check out to go home.

Once I get back to my house I prep the canvas for the painting. Then I remember the freaking mammoths on my face so I go head and rewash my face and put the star face patches on. I can't believe he asked me out??? I feel like a giddy school girl. And while I was feeling insecure ? I've always broken out easily. When I was in high school I had horrible cystic acne, so much so I wouldn't talk to people and I just wanted to disappear and be invisible. I can't wait to see how these things work I've heard they are amazing.

I paint for about 3 hours and decide to make some lunch while I'm eating I see that Kaleb texted me.

-You looked really nice today.  Can't wait for tomorrow:)-

I type back -Thank you :) you did too, and yes I'm excited. -

After I finish eating lunch, reheated leftovers, I go back to painting for a few more hours then go to take the patches off of my face. And wow am I surprised. The little suckers already have gone down. Maybe all the answers really are in the stars.
