I was in complete shock!

Was it the lack of sleep from last night that made me hallucinate?
Did I really see my ex-husband in front of me..in my workplace??

'Why ,the hell, do such things always happen in my shitty life?'

This man, whom I have not seen in the last five years, apparently bought my boss's architecture and engineering company and actually became ... OMG!...my new boss!

He sat next to Pedro, listening intently to his speech, while effortlessly scattering his magnetizing natural charisma, in every direction.

No doubt, Andres Moreno was a man with an impressive presence.

He was the kind of person who did not have to do much to attract the attention of all present.
He radiated ease and a slick self-confidence, his clever and sharp eyes had certainly made his aura glow.

Of course, his looks also contributed to the fact that he always stood out.
He was tall and broad-shouldered, his silky black hair, slightly slanted dark eyes, and tanned complexion, combined together in a particularly breathtaking and very hot way.

Too bad that all that splendor concealed a ruthless character, of someone who did not waste any means to achieve his goals..

When I found out five years ago the reason he married me, I was not that surprised.
It was very clear from the start that Andres Moreno was high above my league, and that discovery I made later in our marriage, explained everything and painfully verified the doubt I had always had in my subconscious.

I forced myself to shake off the thoughts and memories that ran frantically in my mind.

Five years have passed since the night I left him, I was no longer the same innocent twenty-two-year-old girl who fell madly in love with the perfect prince and blindly believed every word that came out of his mouth.

I took a deep breath, glancing at the other people in the room.

Our office had twelve employees and all of them, except for the two secretaries, sat in the meeting room around me.
The other two women in the room, one was forty years old and the other in her mid-fifties, were staring at Andres in obvious admiration. His sexy masculinity influenced them even though they were both married.

I glanced at Miguel sitting next to me. His colorful and super trendy clothes stood out against the dark suits of the rest.
He was closest to me in age, and he too, had a very excited look on his face...
He felt my gaze and gave me a meaningful look back, his eyes sparkling.

At that moment, I felt a powerful force pulling me to look in its direction, I turned my head involuntarily, to see Andres' eyes resting on me with a deep, penetrating gaze .

My heart skipped a beat and I felt my whole body freeze.

No! He will not do this to me again!

I gave him a defiant look back, unable to control the anger that was beginning to seep into me.

That's when a shadow of a smile appeared on his face, and his gaze became teasing..
Our eyes caught each other, as if a powerful electric current had passed between us, unable to disconnect.
I literally felt my whole body being charged with this electricity..

Then, Pedro's words brought me back to reality, he began to introduce all the employees present in the room, and their roles in the company.

"And this is Daniela Almada" Pedro said when they came to me,
"she is a very talented young architect and I expect greatness from her when she gets more experience"

I blushed in embarrassment. "Thank you, Pedro"

I felt Andres' gaze on me, was there pride in his eyes ?!
Wtf ?!

It was Andres' turn to speak.
He got up in his too familiar tiger-like smooth movements, and began to utter his words in his deep, slightly hoarse voice.

He introduced himself and explained the philosophy of the company and its goals.
His charisma made everyone focus their attention on every word that came out of his mouth.
The spontaneous applause after he finished his speech, demonstrated the appreciation everyone felt for him.

At the end of the meeting, everyone started to leave, while stopping to greet Andres and shake his hand and congratulated Pedro, who was standing next to him.

When it was my turn and I approached him slowly until I stood in front of him, he examined my face with an indistinct expression, and did not speak.

My mind raced frantically, the last thing I wanted was to be the target of my co-workers' gossip, or worse, that they will think I have an advantage over them, and I will be promoted at work because of our past ties...

"Hello Mr. Moreno, nice to meet you!" I immediately said.

"It's nice to meet you, too, Miss Almada. I'm sure it will be a pleasure to work together"
His eyes twinkled.

His warm, big hand shook with mine, sending electricity to my body.
