THE LAST MEET

(Saanjh and Sachin are standing in the balcony, a little blank with the words. It's evening time and Sachin has come to visit Saanjh at her place, when after almost a week she has not come to his house all of a sudden. He asks politely about the matter but Saanjh hardly speaks- out the reason.)

Sachin - You can tell me Saanjh, it's me.

Saanjh (looks at him.) - Amrita is right... whatever she asked me to do. She didn't say anything wrong and I thought over it. (Takes a pause collecting her voice and then continues.) How am I supposed to move on, when..

Sachin - do you really think, not meeting me or leaving that place all at once will help in this. I mean... you.. you won't be able to.. You won't be at peace Saanjh..! (She looks at him in surprise.) I mean to say... it is not what I want, of course I want you to be at peace but Saanjh..

Saanjh - in actual, you won't be at peace! (Sachin quietly looks at her now. Saanjh continues with a heavy heart.) See... whatever happened, we all are still trying to.. fight over it. Come out of it. I know, it's.. it's hard for you. (Her eyes gets filled with tears.) I guess... it should be Amrita and not me, to be with you at this time. You need someone. You strongly do and it'd be better if it's her. It's her place!

Sachin - I'm not giving her place to anyone. But Saanjh you know that, there's a different place for you in the heart. You both have been... there's no comparison or replacement Saanjh! We both are at different level of understanding. (Saanjh looks away in helplessness.)

Saanjh - whatever it is, you won't even disagree that it was getting a bit awkward... being there. For me... between us, among we three! In all that emotional situation. (She turns to him.) See, I don't want to sound rude or mean... but I guess I just needed to take a step and Amrita being all matured helped me in that. I tried to do the same while still coming there but.. now I have taken this decision.

Sachin (lightly chuckles.) - So you've made up your mind. And I had to come over here and get updated with the status. Saanjh, you know I always felt that we're friends. We have that bond. And you won't disagree on this. (After a calm pause.) It's alright, if you have taken the decision and acting on it. It's your life. (Saanjh has turned her sight away and now she's just listening to him with patience.) But being honest here, this was not physical. We were above that. I hope if we still are. You know what.. when a bond grows without those desires of touch... expectation and disappointments! It actually is pure. I felt that.. between us. In fact you, Amrita, Spriha... everyone out there felt it. Did we get scared!? Huh!? How many... how many stories have been left unsaid, unlived! because of this fear Saanjh! (Saanjh turns to him with teary eyes.)
