He opened his eyes. What just happened... It was bright and hot, so hot his eyes were burning. Where am I?
...
He jumped up, terrified, getting away as fast as he could. He landed on pebbles, scratching his knee. His breathing was heavy, he turned to look at the campfire behind him. Fire... He stood up slowly, trying to keep his panic under control.
"Who the fuck are you?" a teenage boy called. Huitzi didn't understand the words, it was a language he had heard before but he didn't know it. Huitzi turned to face him, he was short, with brown hair, white skin, shirtless, wearing dark blue shorts, and in his hand a white cup. His eyes were brown but the white had turned red, due to smoking most likely. He continued. "Where the fuck do you come from, bro? Wanna fight or something? Come at me man!" He moved towards Huitzi on unstable legs, swaying from side to side with every step, he was no threat. He tripped on grass and fell face first, spilling whatever was in his cup. Huitzi could see the people behind the boy. Boys and girls, around his age, all with white skin, a couple stepping forward to help their friend up, and a few others standing around what Huitzi just jumped from.
Fire... How did I get here? Where am I? Two boys had picked the shirtless boy up, he was sleeping soundly, "Don't worry about him," assured one of the boys, his face was apologetic. He had bright eyes, dark brown hair, and a small beard. "By the way...You might wanna wear something." Huitzi noticed a breeze on his private parts. His ears heat up as he covered himself the best he could but people were more intimidated by his athletic build, and his many scars, the most fearsome being the one on his back. "Just take the ones there," joked the boy, but Huitzi took him to his words.
There was a tall wooden fence on which were hanged outfits. Huitzi just picked on at random. He wore tight light blue pants he didn't know but thought looked cool, a white shirt and a blue shirt over it because the air was chilly. The dark night sky was starless and he couldn't see the moon. Behind him, he could hear the flow of a river faintly and the laughs of people in the distance. The people around the fire, minus the three who crossed the fence, had settled down, chatting together, listening to music from a small black box. Louder music and many more voices were coming from behind the fence so Huitzi entered.
He could feel the bass in his chest and the music almost hurt his ears. A man fell in front of him, dropping his cup on the grass, laughing hysterically. More were jumping up and down to the beat of the music, singing the lyrics approximately. Huitzi managed to navigate through them and sat on a flight of stairs. Above stood a big building, made of blue wooden boards and with multiple windows. Inside were more people, there might be 40 people inside and outside in total, Huitzi knew nobody and sat down on the stairs, trying his best to enjoy the atmosphere while recollecting his memory. I'm sure Pyro would love this party, he thought.
He might have looked sad to onlookers so a girl sat next to him. "What's up?" Huitzi knew these words but didn't know how to respond and stayed silent. "Anyway man, it's gonna be alright! Just k-" she got cut mid-sentence by one of her friends pulling her up and inside the building. She smiled at him as she got in but he lost track of her after a few seconds, the only physical trait he kept note of was the spear-shaped tattoo on her neck. He stayed alone, watching the people, thinking.
A man walking up the stair bumped him, disturbing him, and Huitzi fell on his elbow. Looking back he only got a look at his back, he wore a black jacket, a black shirt, the bottom could be seen, tight black pants, and red and white shoes. He had his arm over some other man, they were talking and laughing together. But he managed to just notice it, on the man's right leg, right where his pants stopped above his ankle. The sun tattoo! Huitzi jumped up, determined to catch up to his maybe-relative. His brain ran through every scenario, what he might say to him, what he could ask, who that person might be, how they would react...
He lost him in the crowd. The music inside was louder, or maybe the bass just hit harder. There were lights flashing that occasionally blinded him and the overlapping voices of tens of people that made it hard to hear anything. A bearded man bumped into him, spilling his drink over Hiutzi's shirt, it smelt like alcohol. As Huitzi pushed past, another and another kept bumping into him, the people around were jumping up and down in sync with the loud basses of the music playing. Huitzi got pushed on all sides, unable to get away. A hand grabbed his shoulder and managed to pull him out.
A girl taller than him, with long hair, black at the roots, blue at the tips, helped him up. She wore a black hoodie with a drawing of some girl with pink hair on it. "You ok? You were getting beat up in there?" Huitzi didn't understand what she said, only something about him and there. He tried his best to conjure up a sentence, he was still looking for his relative.
"Huh...Me... huh- Sun. Sun!" he said, pointing at the sky, then at his ankle. "Me!" he gestured at himself with a thumb. "Aye," he pointed at his eyes. "Sun!" he said, holding his ankle, showing his own tattoo, that he forgot he had for a second.
In the brouhaha and with the flashing lights, she had to get close to him to be able to hear and see anything. Huitzi noticed she didn't smell like alcohol or sweat, unlike most of the people around them, she must have definitely understood him. "Huh... You know what, let's get out of here. Spark is about to go anyway." She grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the crowd. They reached the front door, the man in all-black standing in the doorway, surrounded by three other guys. He handed something and grabbed something himself before heading out. "Hey! Spark! You know this guy?"
Spark turned and Huitzi knew it, he had grown a small beard and his face seemed longer but it was him, he had the same dark eyes, slightly hooked nose, short dark red hair, and a scar on his left ear. Huitzi jumped on him, making him lose balance but he stayed standing. When they pushed each other apart, they managed to have a clear view of each other's faces. "CENTELLO!" cried Huitzi.
"Huitzi?! What the hell are you doing here!" he laughed loudly. "This is my little brother!" he said to his friend, Huitzi didn't understand that part. "We have so much to talk about."
