A/N|I wrote this back in 2021, but I'm gonna post it without changing anything. I know that Avdol is his surname, but I'm so used to that name, it feels weird to change it at this point.
Avdol had always been so caring. He always helped and comforted her, whether it be during that time when she broke her hand while fighting a stand user or when she was struggling with sleeping during those hard 50 days. And in moments where she felt doomed and that the end is near for her, he’d always calm her down and help her overcome her anxieties.
She was absolutely in love with that man. And the day where they confessed their feelings would always be one of the most cherished moments of her life.
The sun, slowly rising, was bathing the town in its light. There were townsfolk who exited their houses and went about their business, others who went to drink their morning coffee and third, which decided to sleep in. (Y/N) was one of the people who decided to get up early and enjoy the morning rays.
Sunrises were always so beautiful to her.
Walking up the stairs of the old hotel, towards the roof, her cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other, she was welcomed by a beautiful view on the balcony.
Avdol, sitting in all his glory on one of the armchairs, was basking in the light, his skin catching the sun and making him look as some kind of ethereal creature.
Even if I tried, there wouldn’t be any words to describe him, he was simply magnificent.
(Y/N) didn’t even feel she’d stopped breathing. She shook her head, while plastering a little smile on her face, and sat next to him.
“G’morning,” she said with a yawn, then jokingly added “how are you on this fine day?”
She heard a silent chuckle coming from him and then a response.
“Better” he hummed “now that you’re here” he looked at her through slightly lidded eyes and noticed that her face had suddenly gotten significantly redder, so he decided to tease her.
“My, (Y/N), you look quite sick, are you in need of any assistance ?”
She could see the smirk forming on his face, he obviously knew that the way he phrased his question would fluster her even more.
At this point of time, all of the Crusaders could feel the tension between Avdol and (Y/N) when near them, whether it be flirty comments, jokingly throwing stupid insults at each other and even almost kissing once, but that was interrupted by Joseph, when he accidentally walked in on them.
Yet the topic had never been directly addressed by either one of them.
(Y/N) decided that today was the day.
“Oh my, and what assistance would that be?”
She could see him grow rigid and his eyes slightly widened. He didn’t expect her to be this bold. He thought for a second and in a split second he pulled her in his lap.
Now it was her turn to be surprised and absolutely shocked. Who would expect the usually calm and collected man to act so…
“You’re so beautiful” she accidentally uttered what she’d been thinking.
“Am I now?” he chuckled quietly “I really hope Mr. Joestar doesn’t interrupt us now.”
When she realized what he’d just implied, she hummed a noise in agreement.
She wondered, was this worth it? What if either one of them died on this journey? Would the other one be able to get through it? What if she was completely wrong on her feelings and she’d make a mistake? All of these questions and different variations of them swirled around in her head.
Avdol saw this in her eyes, he’d always said that a person’s eyes tell the deepest secrets. He once again decided to take initiative.
“May I-” he quietly said “May I kiss you?”
She knew her voice would betray her, her insecurities were rooted deep in her and she couldn’t overcome them. They were a part of her.
And Avdol accepted them.
So, with little hesitation, she brought her lips closer to his and when they finally kissed, she felt all her bad thoughts washing away. She was sure now, whatever the future held they’d be okay, even if they were separated, for they had already tasted the fruits of true love.
Though, with time they had let passions, held for too long at bay, loose. A kiss here, a kiss there, perhaps a little more than that sometimes.
And when the others, except Polnareff, made her aware that Avdol had “died” and was now on an island, she was quick to tell them, she’d depart to visit his “father” to deliver her and the other crusaders' condolences.
Dear reader, you can guess what happened next, I mustn’t disclose such information, for I’m telling a love story, not writing an erotic novel.
So now, after many months of thinking and hoping Avdol would somehow come back to the house and they’d be able to do menial tasks together, like him feeding the chickens, while she watched from the side and enjoyed how the rays of the sunrise hit his skin and made him look like some kind of Egyptian god. Or perhaps even behaving like kids and chasing each other across the island, while looking for small animals to pet.
But (Y/N) knew that would never happen, since he was dead.
He’d broken his promise.
He’d never be able to hold her again in his arms, or whisper sweet nothings in her ear and lastly, he’d never be able to meet his child.
While (Y/N) slowly rubbed her very swollen belly, the very obnoxious singing of a certain Frenchman was heard in the background.
Jean Pierre had decided to help out the soon-to-be mother, who had wanted to give birth in Avdol’s cottage. She damned her sentimentality, but decided this would be the best place for her to live until her child was born and she was able to protect her family. She was sure the birth would go as planned, so she didn’t really need anyone, except Holly, who was going to travel there in a few days to help with the birth. But where Holly is, there’s Jotaro and Joseph and where Jotaro is, there’s Kakyoin. So she expected the whole band to get together. Everyone except two.
Perhaps in a different universe, she was with the love of her life and their little crotch goblin. But these were just her hopeless dreams. She’d have to give up those and live properly.
After all the waiting, the time had come. Everyone was gathered as they welcomed little Rowan. A small, darling baby girl. The mom needed some rest, so after meeting her child, Rowan was taken to be cleaned up.
And now we’re here, (Y/N) sitting in Avdol’s old chair, with her little baby snuggled against her, looking at the sunset.
