The girl marched through the sidewalk on her way towards her home, her school just got over for today and all she wish for is to reach home as soon as possible, because the uneasy feeling thumping in her heart was making her anxious.
"Mae?"
Her feets paused when the destination arrived but, surprisingly she noticed her little sister sitting at the doorstep of their house.
"What are you doing here?"
Mae got up from the doorstep and walked closer to her sister.
"Maa isn't opening the door for me, Reika."
"Why? Did you knock on the door or rang the bell?"
"Yes, I even called maa few times but she didn't respond."
Reika walked closer towards the door and came in a sudden realisation that it had a gap in between and wasn't locked properly, she glanced at her sister and immediately dashed inside the house.
"Maa?"
She called for her mother but silence responded her back.
"Maa!!"
She called once again and suddenly, a weird smell caught Reika's nostrils. Her eyes widened in shock when she recognised the fragrance.
