TWO WEEKS LATER

It's been a few challenging day's following my coronation, between preparing our army and dispatching them to assist female pack members attempting to flee, to providing housing for our recent arrivals, adjusting them in, and scavenging for resources, while being based in the outlands has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that we possess more animals to gather for food, whereas the disadvantages seem to be the troops from the kingdom that are searching in the outlands for the "missing" females.

They've remained around since the first infiltration my army performed on my coronation date; ever since, we've had to enhance surveillance and disguise our scents and trails even more effectively than before we began aiding women in breaking free.

To say our patrols didn't have an overwhelming odour would be an understatement; we've practiced concealing our odours using dirt, blood, even animal hides, with it also assisting in concealment when we become close to our enemies.

I've made it my top priority to always be available with each patrol's turnover, my thoughts consistently tracking the changeover and memorizing every detail about how near we are to being discovered. My patrol soldiers informed me further about troubled king, since the alphas have all been desperate for him to find the identity of the offenders responsible for the disappearance of their females.

So, the obvious finger to point was "the rogues," which is why they've been prowling inside the outlands.

Holding documents of future growth development in my hands, I navigated my way down the steps of the pack house where members passing by greeted me with a smile as they proceeded about their daily tasks.

"Alpha!" my Beta Faun Everly shouted from behind i look over to her approaching with soilders sprinting my way.

"I'm about to head out for the next shift with patrol team four, the recent newcomers have all gotten secured into their living arrangements, so I've made aware to them about the banquet for their own arrival greeting party," she notifies me, presently standing ahead of me with her arms behind her back, waiting for my appreciation.

I raise an eyebrow at her smug expression and immature demeanour while snickering, "well conducted Faun, I see that you're adapting to your newfound duty just fine."

"Not just FINE Amaris, if I may claim so, I am doing an exceptional job "As she turns to depart, the cocky grin still plastered on her face.

I chuckle at herself assurance as she accomplishes each assignment, then adjust my head to the side, questioning her, "Faun why're you leading the patrol, I will take them to their station before venturing back to setting up the banquet, you could perhaps take a break you have been out all night retrieving a few members from quarter" I follow a few steps forward, only to be interrupted as she turns around.
