Earth was confusing and chaotic enough before. But what exactly was the before?
To Shirley Jensen-Stark and half of the population of the universe, the before was the normal lives they led prior to the tidal wave that washed them away and then brought them back to shore. It had been so sudden that they hadn't noticed the change, not at first. After all, it wasn't like any of them were different. Shirley was the exact same, down to the eyeliner she had smudged that morning when she'd rubbed her eyelid during class. But the world? The world was drastically different, as she would soon realize, when she found herself in a Chemistry lecture instead of a Physics one, surrounded by people she didn't know.
Out of the blue, Shirley had lost five entire years of her existence. Life hadn't been particularly joyful in those years, but she'd still missed out on moments, celebrations, misfortunes... even the birth of her half sister, Morgan. For months, she mourned all the things she'd missed with the people who'd stayed behind. Her whole family had gotten older (with the exception of her aunt Deborah), her friend group had gotten their degrees and were out of college, not to mention how her father had sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos minutes after she'd returned.
Kate Bishop was the last person she'd expected to form a friendship with, but they were now the same age and the girl seemed determined to help Shirley navigate the fog that this world appeared to be. She brought some much needed chaos into Shirley's order, and the burden on her shoulders didn't seem as heavy as before. Still, there was only so much Kate could do, and the world still seemed to be in a disarray.
Maybe a fresh start was what she needed, and so Shirley moved back into the middle of New York and started working harder than ever before to make it to Law School, a spur of the moment life changing decision that she didn't really know why she'd made. It got better, but she felt like the past was still tugging her back, and it tugged and tugged until she found herself at a black market auction, determined to buy one of Tony's faceplates that had somehow been recovered from the wreckage of the Avengers compound.
Of course, Shirley didn't expect the Tracksuit Mafia (what kind of name was that, anyways?) to hijack the auction. Least of all, she didn't expect a skilled vigilante with a familiar face and a far too baggy suit to come out of the shadows, but hey, it wasn't like crazier things hadn't happened.

Hello! So I've wanted to post a Marvel fic again for a while, since I've been rebranding my fic series behind the scenes. I didn't really know where to start, until Hawkeye came out and this idea took form. As I've said before, this book is part of my Marvel series, which is called Earth-282 (aka the universe where my characters exist).
I don't know how many of my og followers will read this but, if you're one of them and you were around in like 2018, you'll know that my first ever fic on here was a Tony Stark one, where the main oc was none other than Leda Jensen. A lot of things have changed in my series since then, such as Leda no longer being Tony's endgame love interest. The two were engaged in the 90's, and separated when Shirley was two years old. Tony then found love with Felicity Santoro, another OC of mine, with whom he had Morgan. As for Pepper, she hasn't been cut out, as she's still very important in Stark Industries and has a family of her own.
Now Hawkeye obviously takes place post No Way Home and, while there aren't any explicit spoilers concerning that movie, some details might hint at things that happened during it, due to how close Tony and Peter were, and Shirley has obviously met him as well.
I would also like to ask if any of you have/know of a graphic shop currently taking requests! I don't have Photoshop installed right now, so I can't make a manipulated cover like my other books have, but I would still like to have one!
Updates for this will be sporadic, as I'm a university student with limited free time.
