"I may work for heroes, but it doesn't mean I care for them and their drama." I state. Dabi leans up on his elbows and smirks at me.
"Mhm, you participated in the Heroes parade last year, Hawks had you walk behind him from the commission."
"Heroes parade?"
"Like when you and your heroes' commission celebrate a victory by going around cursing villains." Dabi looks down, which causes me to heat up again. I pull the shirt lower.
"So, villains have nicknames for the heroes' events."
"Princess, admit it. You support the heroes. " Dabi grins once again, pulling his staples tight.
I touch his forehead, lighting the end of my fingers with the amazing blue flames. His grin disappears and he pulls his face away. The flames stuck to my hands.
"I support All Might for setting the world straight." I remove my foot and sit on the couch.
"Report me, princess. We all know you don't like me here. "
I stay silent and close my eyes. The flames jump between my hands. The heat is bearable but not comfortable. I think there is definitely more to Dabi's quirk than I have noticed, but I figure it hurts when he uses it. His skin must always burn and the staples must rip or pop open a lot.
"Let's go to the club." I say, standing and heading back to my room to change. I'll either go with or without him. I need a drink of something strong.
The more my mind rejects the facts, the more stressed I get. I don't support heroes, but working for them gives me a major advantage. Money.
My yearly salary for being a research assistant under them is as much as theirs. It gives me something to hold above my mother's head whenever she says I'm wasting my life.
I don't like the thought of killing or robbing innocent people, but I can't support heroes going around ruining more lives. They ruined my parents' lives, and I'm glad they got what they deserved all those years ago.
I go through my closet and choose a mini plaid skirt and black crop top with 5 inch boots that lace up to my kneecaps. I threw Hawks' feather on and headed back into the living room. Dabi is aat the kitchen table on my laptop.
"Excuse you? " I respond by walking over. I looked at the screen and saw that he pulled up the news.
"You said villain tea party. One hundred percent Hawks told you last night. " Dabi says, scrolling through the stories until he finds the one from last night.
"Yeah, he said blue flames sent the building up." I sat on the edge of the seat with him.
"I got to thinking about it, and how my boss told me to stay low for a minute, the 'villain tea party,'" Dabi air quotes, "Didn't happen last night. It happened months ago."
My mind races, Hawks said he was catching villains from the tea party last night, and his description of the villain who caused the most damage fit Dabi.
"You're saying that the heroes moved the story around?" I asked, looking at him.
"I'm saying the heroes are up to something, and it sounds like they aimed it at me and Toga this time." He points at the screen, and it's got a story.
There was a picture of Dabi's silhouette and a small blonde-haired girl, almost naked. She held a container which held the contents of blood. From her looks, she drinks the blood and changes her appearance.
"How about we worry about this tomorrow? Hawks is off tomorrow and will most likely be over here."
"It's sad you know my name and my occupation when nobody hardly knows." Dabi states. He leans back.
