I breathed out a sigh of disbelief, my room was a mess, how the hell was I supposed to get all this packed by tomorrow? I sat down on the edge of my oversized mattress for a while before pulling out a pack of marlboro reds I had hidden between my mattress and bedframe. Dad hated it when i smoked inside, but I couldn't care less about what he thought. I inhaled the cool, white smoke and blew a few perfect rings before my door was pushed open with such a force that I thought it'd fall off the hinges "Grace! what did i tell you about smoking!" He ripped the cigarette from my mouth and threw it out the window. "Hey! I was smoking that you know" I breathed. "Hurry up and pack your stuff, we're leaving tomorrow." I muttered some unintelligent words under my breath before starting to pack my record collection and small amount of clothes. After I had finished packing I was exhausted and collapsed onto my bed, I fell and dreamt of a life away from my father.

The next morning I was woken from my slumber by birds chirping outside my window, same shit every morning, I sighed to myself and chucked on the closest t-shirt i could find before walking downstairs to the sound of dad talking to a truck driver. "Grace can you please bring your stuff down so this man can pack it in the truck?" I could tell he was putting on a front in front of the delivery man. He never ever uses manners unless he has company. "yes of course dad, is there anything else I can do for you" I smiled sarcastically and turned to go to my room before he could reply. After my mum had passed away I just couldn't stand to be with my dad. I can't help but blame him for her death, he should've stopped her. He should've been a better husband. He should've treated her better, and now she's dead and I need someone to blame, so I guess I take it all out on him.

Before I knew it we were already in the car off to this adams family cave, I don't even know why we needed such a big house, there's only two of us. Dad said it was a bargain buy. I pulled out my iPod and played the first nirvana track that came up 'lithium' I was proud of my selection, I slipped my headphones in and slouched down and watched city apartments slowly turn into a country land.

I got out of the car and looked around, "Ugh it's even worse than I imagined!'' I exclaimed. I grabbed the few things of mine from the truck and walked inside. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelt freshly cleaned and of citrus and bleach. The entire house was mahogany with expensive looking finishings. How boring. I made my way up the spiral stairs  and found my bedroom. I was happily surprised when i saw it. The room was reasonably sized with one window. It was dimly lit, just the way I like it. I dumped my belongings on the floor.  I could spend a lot of time here I thought. just as soon as I layed down on my bed I heard the cars engine outside rumble to life. Already, not even 5 minutes into our new house and dad was already off to the local pub.

Tates perspective

I watched her with careful eyes, her name was Grace I had figured, the name suited her perfectly. I observed her face carefully, she was beautiful in her own way, she had straight black hair, with the most dazzling set of emerald eyes I've ever seen. She had pale, almost translucent skin and her nose was full of pale brown freckles. I watched her as she got up and explored her room, she noticed a mirror in her room and completely avoided it, I wondered why, she was beautiful. I waited perfectly for the right time to appear to her, her back was turned as she fiddled with her iPod, "Hello, my names Tate, I just wanted to welcome you to the neighbourhood"

Graces perspective

"Hello, my names Tate, I just wanted to welcome you to the neighbourhood." I jumped up in surprise "holy fuck you scared the shit out of me, how did you get in here?" "oh sorry I tried knocking but the door was open so I..." "oh so you thought you could just barge in!"

"Oh.."

I saw his face fall, and that's when I realised I hadn't taken in his appearance, he was actually kinda beautiful in the strangest way, I took in the way his full brown eyes fell as looked to the floor, his eyes looked as though he hasn't slept in a month and his dirty blonde hair was messy like a birds nest, he was my type of guy I thought.
