Amy opened her eyes an found her self staring into the face of a woman she didn't recognize though her vision was a bit blurry, yet she believed she hadn't seen the woman before. She had a dark skin, long eyelashes and a large bulging eyes. Probably in her mid fifties. With a hand  on her shoulders, she was moving her mouth as if she were talking except no sound was coming out.
She tried to sit up but was knocked flat by the searing pain between her ribs. What was going on? She thought. The woman sat back as a man leaned in from the other side of the bed, he too was moving his jaws and making no sound. Blinking, Amy looked around and frowned, from the look of things she was in a hospital care but what caught her eye was the sheer innocence that was depicted in the room. The awkward blend of taste and paintings. The walls, door, ceiling, down to the floor were all white except for the dark woman attending to her.
The sounds of bird chirping outside and the beeping sound if the machine beside her were the only sounds she could hear. Everything was eeeringly quiet. At least she could see and hear things -- hear? She thought to herself. Wait, what if she was deaf. She was hearing the sound of the chirping birds and the beeping machine, why can't she hear what the woman was saying. No voices, nothing at all.
Amy closed her eyes trying to remember what happened to her last before she blacked out. The more she tried to remember, the more the pain surged through her forehead causing her to grip her head with one hand and smashing the other on the bed.
Telling her self to stay calm, she kept her eyes closed and tried to focus on the noises around her. After a few minutes spent just laying there, the pain in her head began to shift to a lower pitch and she thought she could detect the sound of voice beside her. She was starting to hear them.
She was also starting to feel the sharp throbbing pain in her left thigh too, though her throat felt raw and dry. She opened her eyes once again and tried to speak. "Where am I?". The woman eyed her cautiously, her lips moving once more
"Louder please" She rapsed "My ears..."
She leaned closer and tried again. "Sorry miss I'm in no liberty to answer your question" the woman finally responded. Goodness, why was she so unfortunate, that wasn't the answer she was hoping to get.
"Okay" Amy said with a groan and a wave of frustration. ...but at least you can tell me what time is it?" She continued.
"The bedside table ma'am" the woman said pointing to the table by the side of the bed. Amy glanced at it as she saw the time from the clock lying helplessly on the table. It was 10 am in the morning. "Yes!" She shouted like a little girl who just won the Olympic game medal. She realized the fact the last thing she could remember was coming home from work and talking with there mom. The thought of her mom made her worried, she need to get back home ASAP. Her mom would have been worried sick about her whereabouts now. She wanted to thank this woman for her hospitality and get out of here.
"Ma'am" She called out, drawing the attention of the woman currently sitting backing her.
"You can call me Donovan" The dark woman said turning and giving out a smile.
"Alright Donovan, am so grateful for your kind gesture but can you please loose these things and let me go". Amy said trying to trace the wires and drip that was being connected to her veins. Maybe she was involved in a ghastly motor accident but she couldn't remember what happened before. Her mom could have rushed down here as soon as she got the information. All these assumptions needed to be cleared. She had to go
"Sorry Miss, am not in the position to do that" The woman said with a thin smile on her lips.
"What does that mean?"Amy asked looking surprised.
"Ma'am am sorry but the problem here is... Amy interrupted before she could continue
"I'm Amelia by the way". She said sitting up in an upright position.
"Alright Ma'am" Donovan said and looked at Amy with a corny look knowing she had repeated the Ma'am stuff again and mouthed a sorry.
"Okay, whatever nice meeting you, so now tell me, what is the problem you were referring to?" Amy asked with keen interest.
"Actually you've been in coma for three months and obviously you are just recuperating, it's best you stay in for a while to regain your strength" Donovan responded.

Amy stared at her as if she was speaking gibberish. Unbelievable. She tried to digest what she had just heard but it's not going down. She couldn't have possibly lost consciousness for ninety days. She understand that she couldn't recollect what brought her to this mess but definitely not been knocked out for three good months. Her mom. Her Job.
"Are you sure of what you are saying". Amy asked with an arched eyebrow.
            "Yes miss" The woman responded.
Before Amy could speak again, they were interrupted by a knock on the door. A tall, fair skinned man walked in, probably in the early thirties with a thick, dark hair, clipped short. Over a muscular build he wore a black tuxedo with a tag on his breast pocket. He stopped abruptly infront of her and bowed.
"Ma'am, the president request your presence in his chambers" He turned and gave Donovan a nod before they both left.
He had a nice british accent but his American looked betrayed it. She thought, what president? Was she in the white house? Hell no. She couldn't have left New York which is kilometers away from Washington DC. The Guy with the tuxedo came back alone and gestured for her to follow him.

She was indifferent initially. She stood up but her legs started to wobble before she finally regained her stamina. The three months coma did a little good on not paralysing her. She wanted to meet this president. Whoever he was, was superior and should have answers and the power to get her out of here.
