Jada and I walked outside I checked if I had my wallet and to see if my phone was fully charged up and she locked the door behind me.

On my way down a few neighbor's waved at me and said hello to Jada  I then saw my good friend's Mr valentine and Mr's valentine.

"Hello Ryan dear......Jada how have you been" Mrs valentine said calling me over.

Jada just gave a small wave and that was it.

She never really liked people to be honest.

"I'm fine how are you two doing" I said stopping Infront of them as Mrs valentine took my hands in hers.

" Oh we're quite alright, y'know Charles over there his hearing has gone bad now he has another appointment to attend this Sunday, so we won't be able to attend church" she said sounding quite sad.

" I'm so sorry to hear that how bad is it" I said as I felt a lump in my throat.

" If your gonna rate it from one to ten I would say probably a nine" she said frowning.

" Oh I'm really sorry about that, is there anything I can do to help you guys" She shook her head clearly stating that she didn't want me involved.

" But-"she didn't let me finish my sentence.

" Now you listen here young man, I don't want you to be helping others and getting all stressed out over nothing, try and stay put for once, your like a golden retriever gone wild, trust me the world doesn't deserve you and sure as hell needs more people like you, your like the son I've never had and I've never had any kids, just take care of yourself please" she said as her expression softened.

Jada whispers something I didn't quite catch but I did hear and her laugh.

".........yes ma'am" I said as I knew I couldn't argue with her.

She's been like a mother to me, ever since my actual mom passed away.

"Oh son I'm sorry, did I go a bit too far with that" she said taking my hands in hers.

" Oh no worries it's completely fine" I said not wanting her to feel bad about it.

" Ah yes, were you two on your way to some where important, I hope I didn't take up too much of your time" she said tending to her disabled husband.

" Oh no it's completely fine, we weren't going anywhere important just going to take a small walk" I said twirling my hair between my fingers.

" Ah ok, well you two get going now go on, chop chop" she said shooing us away with a small smile on her face.

"Bye Mrs valentine" I said to her giving her husband a small wave as ran off.

We walked through the streets looking into different store windows and restaurants until I started feeling a little hungry, so we to stopped a small Starbucks shop to get something to drink.

On my way in I saw that It wasn't as packed as usual so I went up to the cashier and placed my order.

Jada said she was good and didn't want anything, grumbling about how she doesn't even know if their hands are sanitized or clean.

"Hello there handsome what can I get you today" the cashier said in a flirty voice that made me want to throw up.

" Uh hi can I please have a light iced strawberry " I said completely ignoring her comment.

"Sure will that be all" she said smirking at me.

" Yes that's it, do you guys take cash" I said taking out my wallet.

" Yeah we do, you can just go take a seat, give us a minute" she said looking annoyed with me ignoring her.

"Bro, I'm gonna head out I have some shit I need to take care of" Jada says looking at her phone.

"Yeah....is everything good" she's been disappearing a lot lately.

She gives me a nod, I go in for a hug but then remember she doesn't really like people touching her so we just do our handshake instead and she leaves.

I paid for my order and walked away I spotted an empty booth in the far back but their was a guy sitting there.

" Excuse me is this seat taken" I asked the stranger but sadly I don't think he heard me.

"Hello" I said about to shake his shoulder until he looked up at me with blue-ish grey eyes and a chiseled jawline that even puts Wattpad men to shame.

"Yes....can I help you" he said in a deep yet cold voice that sent shivers down my spine.

For a while I was absolutely speechless, for I had never heard a voice so deep and those blue eyes I had the will to look away in that very moment but something in my gut wasn't having it, and I found myself staring unable to look away god I must have looked like saw the devil himself.

".......Did you want to sit down if so then go ahead" he said in a tone and at that moment I immediately snapped out of my thoughts.

" Oh sorry about that" I said a bit embarrassed.

".............. Damian" I then heard him say looking at his phone.

"Huh" I said.

"My name is Damian" he said staring at me leaning back in his chair.

"I'm Ryan" I said holding out my hand for him to shake.

"Nice to meet you" he said taking my hand in his firm and strong grip.

"You too" I said feeling my cheeks heat up from realizing how veiny and cold his hand was.

" So do you live around here" he asked.

"I do.....you? "I asked curious of his response

"Excuse me sir" I looked up to see the waitress with two drinks on a tray in her hand.

" Here you go" she said handing him his drink.

"Thank you" he said with a smile, I still don't get how he changed so quickly one minute he's trying to seduce me and the next he's all smiles.

She then hands me my drink also handing me a note with it.

" Thank you.....what's the note for" I said confused.

" The cashier said I was supposed to hand it to you I don't know why" she said in a whisper pointing over to the cashier that previously tried to flirt with me.

But before I could react or even open the note Damian snatched it from me opening it up and reading it.
